October 1, 2025

Happy October!

We got this year’s DC Halloween special with Zatannic Panic. We got a new run of Gotham Academy. We got one-shot called Absolute Evil. And another one-shot that is a prelude to DC K.O. in The Omega Act. We got an Adventure Time one-shot set in an alternate universe with Bubblegum and Marceline in college. We got a new Godzilla title called Starship Godzilla. It seems like it focuses on Mechagodzilla. There was a reprint of the 90’s amalgam comic Spiderboy, which is a mashup of Spider-Man and Superboy. We got the next collected edition of the From the Ashes digital issues with X-Men the Undertow. We FINALLY got the Spirits of Violence run that was supposed to start a year or two ago. We got a White Tiger special! Venom got to its 250th issue! We got the next issue in the Age of Revelation. And finally, the next issue of Life.

The next DSTLRY comic from the Life title.

A very cool variant!

Bravo to Vincenzo Riccardi!

Love this Bermejo main cover! And the art on this variant is fantastic too, thanks to Sean Tay! The playing cards look great!

The main cover by Jorge Jiménez is so good! The lighting on them both looks great! The first variant is in reference to the main cover of issue 1. The next is a fun Aja cover. And then Jiménez is also doing these Bat-Gadget covers too.

Always happy to see Inque on these covers. And this is a fun Christian Ward variant!

I love this Szerdy cover of an Autumn-themed Pamela. And here’s another great Gonzales cover. I love this fun Dustin Nguyen variant of Gotham Academy 1.

A great Eom cover! And I couldn’t say no to a variant with Doomaday on it!

This is a variant, but I got it to read because I liked the art style of this cover better than the main cover.

It’s intriguing that the blank is green and not silver since this issues stars Mechagodzilla. And I love this Star Wars poster homage variant!

Now, I feel like this Mack variant could be an homage to something, but I’m not sure. I’m not really a Tron fan, but I liked a couple of these Tron variants. This one is by Hicham Habchi. And I love this Ahsoka and Anakin variant.

The main cover is an Inhyuk Lee cover. It looks fantastic! And this Kushala variant by Momoko is lovely.

So many White Tigers! Such a great legacy variant. And a Psylocke Artgerm variant!

The non-blank covers are here because of Knull.

September 24, 2025

SO MANY COMICS! They didn’t fit on the bed! Almost all the issues either had variants or I got double copies.

The Green Lantern Corps is dealing with a lot. Something big happened in Wonder Woman’s 25th issue of this run. I think this is the end of an arc in Flash. A kind of prelude to this big KO event in DC happened in Superman. We got the penultimate issue for the New history of the DCU. We got a tribute issue for Shannen Doherty in Quick Stops. Street Sharks got a comic miniseries! Black Cat and Ghost-Spider both got the second issues of their new runs. X-Men 22 is the last before this Revelation event. This Daredevil run ended on this 25th issue. Battleworld got a miniseries started. And we got a new Ultimate title focusing on Hawkeye. And the next issue of Godzilla Destorys the Marvel Universe.

I got another of the main cover just because the bike and cat look great together! And the next Cho variant.

Next bunch of WW covers. Marc Spears is doing a trading card design set, I won’t get all of them, just the ones I like the best. Diana looks amazing here! The next Homare cover. A blank variant for some reason, I guess just because it’s this run’s 25th issue. Though I think something or someone big happens in the issue. And I like that the next Nakayama cover was made foil.

Love this Andolfo cover of Absolute Wonder Woman! And here’s another Spears TCG variant. And this is such a good Aja cover of Clark saving someone!

The next Szerdy pair cover. And a great Homare variant of the Trinity.

As y’all know, I love seeing Spectre on a cover! And this also has the Phantom Stranger!

The next of all the covers for the New History of the DCU.

Love this Shannen Doherty variant looking like it was inside the Charmed house. I can’t wait to see what this Street Sharks blank turns out to be at some point! And this is the last anniversary cover for Revenge of the Sith with that iconic twin suns shot.

The next Nakayama main cover and the next Timeless cover of Dagger.

I got four of these. One to read, one for the art itself looking great, one for Galactus’ big old self on there, and another for Mephisto.

Dauterman’s next main cover. And another game variant.

Fan Yang making Loki look fantastic!

I actually completely forgot why I got a second copy of this main cover, I thought it was because of the art itself, but then I was like oh, wait, that’s Galactus’ skull back there, duh! And the next title reveal cover.

So many variants for this issue! I was like gah, why so many?!? The main cover for Apocalypse, The next title reveal, the next Timeless cover, a great Psylocke cover and an homage cover staring Stitch.

The next main Nakayama cover. And Lorna looking amazing in this Timeless cover.

This is such a fantastic variant! I love the colors and the characters and just a lot about this. Bravo Rod Reis!

The next covers for this title. And I got another copy of the main cover because Brooks did such a great job on it.

Posters! I think I’ll give the Punisher one to someone. The other two, I like a lot of course.

Next will be the Completed Sets post if there are any sets that get completed after this.

September 17, 2025

A bit late posting.

A new arc started for Nightwing. This is possibly the antepenultimate issue of New Gods. We got the next issue of Captain Planet. Magic: The Gathering got a new run started focusing on the character Elspeth. Boba Fett got a new Black, White and Red title. Battle Droids were on the attack in the main Star Wars title. Black Cat paid Miles a visit. Jean is dealing with some cosmic entities. Marvel Zombies got a new miniseries to help promote the new animated microseries that just came out. And we got the first Marvel and DC crossover comic in decades with the Marvel/DC Deadpool/Batman one-shot!! SO MANY VARIANTS. And I didn’t even get them all!

I really like the Jonboy Meyers Titans cover, the colors look great and the art looks great. Haining made Absolute Flash look fantastic. More Red Canary of course. This MTG cover by Vincenzo Riccardi is fantastic! And always nice to see Apocalypse on a cover.

I got the variant with Luke on it just becaause it looks cool to see him slash battle droids. And that’s the next ROTS anniversary cover that I wanted.

Happy to have not almost missed that America was on this cover u like last time, haha. And I think this Miles cover is an homage cover but I can’t remember which cover it’s referring to.

One of the first foreshadow covers for the temporary title changes coming soon. And look at this Marco Checchetto variant!

The next title change cover and the next Timeless variant.

Since I don’t play the game, I tend to not really be interested in these game design covers, but if I really like the design, then I get those I like. This one, I liked.

Another Disney cover. A wonderful Tran Nguyen cover of Sue. And another Marvel Studios concept art wraparound cover by Wesley Burt.

Two of the variants for this title that I liked. The animation variant promoting the new animated miniseries on Disney+ now and a fun retro design by Koblish.

The first of many crossover issues with a lot of variants that I wanted. And with these being $6.99 each, this added a lot. But I love these covers!

Red blank to match the other issue’s blue one. Artgerm did a Magik and Catwoman cover. Ryan Stegman did an homage cover that will be mirrored in the other issue. Dauterman did an Infinity Gauntlet homage cover. Terry Dodson did a fun cover with Capt and Diana. J. Scott Campbell did a Huntress and Psylocke cover.

Greg Capullo did this great wraparound cover.

Gurihiru made a fun Krypto and Jeff variant! We got a double logo variant. Marco Checchetto drew Oliver and Matt in a fantastic cover. And Peach Momoko drew Electra and Batgirl. And Pepe Larraz gave us a dynamic cover of Ivy and Rogue battling it out.

Completed Variant Sets 23 — September 16, 2025

These are the only covers that were a set in last week’s new comics. Well, it’s not an official set since Luciano Vecchio did a bunch of covers around this time. But I just wanted these two.

It feels weird to end a CVSet post with only two covers, but hopefully this will be closer to the amount of covers I have in these posts so that it’s not a huge bunch each time. But if that happens again and they build up, then I’ll just have to have the larger posts again. But it does feel great to be caught up after 6 months of sorting almost 3 years of variants.

Completed Variant Sets 22 — September 16, 2025

This set is just gorgeous. That’s because Rahzzah is the cover artist.

The wraparound!

The whole set!

Speaking of gorgeous sets, here’s another! This set, of course, by Jenny Frison. this was in celebration of International Women’s Day. I think my first Frison covers were of Diana, so it’s always nice to see her draw Diana again.

Another lovely Momoko set! And another set where I thought there was more than three covers. Since Tiger Division has a larger group, I thought it would be a cover for each character.

Various artists helped bring about the Summer of Superman in celebration of the movie having been released in July. These covers show various characters dressed in versions of Superman’s costume in their own style. I thought it was each character having his powers, but they all seem to have their own powers on all the covers.

The final set of this big sorting catch-up! A wonderful InHyuk Lee pair!

Now, this is the end of the big catch-up. But since I was delayed, I have one more set to post about. From now on (unless I fall behind again), when I get new weeks of comics, I will sort them on the Sunday (or so) flyer I get them. And thus, any sets that complete during that time will be posted as a Completed Variant Sets post instead of these huge posts.

Completed Variant Sets 21 — September 16, 2025

These main covers were all in polybags, so it was nice to actually see the covers! E.M. Gist is such a great artist! the first cover is actually a variant of the first issue, but I think I saw that variant before I saw the main cover. I always like it the best out of this set.

The set.

This next set is by Mark Brooks. Before this set, actually no, he did a cover in this style before this, so before that, I only knew Brooks signature style and when I first saw the animated style, I had to make sure it was the same artist. I love this Classic Disney Animation art style!! I would watch an animated show in this style.

They look so great together!

Speaking of Mark Brooks differing styles, this set is also from him. It’s in an adventure movie poster style.

These mystery novel style covers are fantastic! These are by Jorge Fornés.

It looks like a novel set.

Completed Variant Sets 20 — September 16, 2025

And now for the connecting variants! These were failures also, but not so bad as the past. Most connected decently but had to overlap or were misaligned in order to do so. I think there was one or two that actually had the whole art connecting properly even if misaligned.

Oh, and this post includes the most insane connecting set so far (not because of not lining up, that Captain Marvel and X-Men set still hold that award).

This set was actually finished in august, but for some reason I thought there were more covers. Nope, just these four.

These were all overlapping, and the images didn’t always line up. But, Mico Suayan did a great job crafting this scene for these covers!

Another fantastic Koblish set! And these ones were wraparounds too. So at least some parts of the image were fine.

And another frustrating bunch of misalignments or missing images. There were a couple overlaps though. I’m not quite sure about the space between the first and second issue though. Some parts seem like they line up once next to each other, and some seem like they need the gap to account for the missing parts of the design. If he ever posts a full image of this, I’d like to see what that part looks like. I would buy long posters of all Koblish’s art of this style.

Okay. This next connecting set is insane. The theme is the Marvel Universe, so just a lot of characters on the covers. These covers are by Chris Giarrusso. 15 issues. But they’re also wraparound. So I had to find space for essentially 30 comic covers to line up next to each other. I took a wide blurry shot, I took two panoramas, I took a bad time-lapse video where I moved slowly but not slow enough it seems. It was a lot. And the images either overlapped or were misaligned, but I do love this piece.

Ah. I forgot to take the individual photos of the comics. Drat. I’ll go take those 45 photos now…

Done! So instead of what I did with the set above, each issue getting two photos and then a wraparound photo after each issue, I’m going to have all 30 images in this next Gallery post, and then all the wraparound images in 15 Image posts afterwards.

And here are all the Images.

I guess I got overwhelmed by trying to figure out how to take the photos of them all together that I forgot about the individual covers. Whoops! But yes, look at all the crazy!

16.6 ish feet of space I had to find!
The first half
The second half
First half via panorama
Second half via panorama

The time-lapse. this was my second attempt, as my first attempt had me moving too fast. I could have tried again, but I didn’t want to be crouched like that continuously for a long time since I had a lot more photos to take during that day.

I decided that they all looked cool from this next view on both ends.

The next set is a connecting grid which is always great. These are by Cliff Chiang.

This was one of the better connecting designs. There was a bit of misalignment, but other than a couple instances of that, it mostly worked out well!

This next set is a vertical connecting set by Nicoletta Baldari!!

It looks great! Though this image is a bit unfocused because I think my light was dimming.

This final connecting set are actually two sets, one foil and one non-foil. They’re by Guillem March! Another great connecting set by this artist.

And the full set. Such fun! These, and the foils, had a little bit of overlap.

And the foils.

Full image.

Next posts are the normal sets.
