August 5, 2026

SO many issues over this past month. Jeez.

We got introduced to a new Pennyworth in this Batman issue. Apparently, we may have a new Spectre. The final issue of this run of Gotham Academy dropped. We got the first issue of Iman Vellani’s first comic being the sole writer. It’s an original idea and the character is based on her. Death Vigil got a new run started by Stjepan Šejić. Jughead got a new title started. We got a new Green Ranger comic. To celebrate the Fantastic Four’s 65th Anniversary, we got both a book showing covers from all those years, and a celebratory issue. The Marvel Tōkon game got a prequel comic that takes place directly before the story events of the game. We got a What If story focusing on Steve. There was an X-Men of Apocalypse one-shot. And Mary Jane got an issue to celebrate her own 60th Anniversary.

The final issue for Endeavor.

A lovely Lotay variant of Sojourner Mullein. Then another Eom variant for Batgirl. The next I got because a version of Spectre is on that cover. I really love this main cover for Deadman by Martín Morazzo and Chris O’Halloran.

Something about these shades of blue really caught my eye beyond the actual artists of the covers. But, yes, Rod Reis’s main cover and the Taurin Clarke cover are just amazing!

I think I’m going to slab this cover. I mean look at it!

I put this as an Image instead of in a Gallery because it’s written by the wonderful Iman Vellani! Our MCU’s Kamala Khan. I’m so excited that after her writing the Ms. Marvel comic run she got to craft her own comic! I also decided to read this after taking the photo. So intriguing! She based the main character on herself. I certainly saw her personality in the writing. The cover is by Marianna Ignazzi.

Since I’ve been following Stjepan Šejić for years, I couldn’t remember if Death Vigil had come out before and this was a new run, or that this was the debut. These covers are so good! The main cover and the third variant are both by Stjepan.

The first variant that I got is by Sozomaika. The character looks like Sephiroth and that scythe is glorious! The next is by Mirka Andolfo, it kind of looks like one of her Mercy covers. And there’s the blank variant.

JEN BARTEL RETURNS!!!!!! When I saw that she had some covers coming out, I was like WHAT?????? YAAAAY!!! I love her work and have missed her art over the past 3 years. she’s made the Archie quad look great! And, there are more covers by her in the next week’s post.

I love the colors!

The first one is a connecting cover by Chris Mooneyham for this title. And double blank variants!

The fantastic main cover is by Simone Di Meo. And I’m happy that we have a new classic Disney animation style cover by Mark Brooks.

This first variant is by Alexander Lozano. It’s the first of an 80’s-themed set a cross titles. And the other variant is a Mary Jane cover by Meghan Hetrick.

This Bermejo variant is amazing! Such a great homage cover! And this is the next Pixar 40th anniversary variant. The complete set of these will look great! This one is by Ryan Stegman.

I also managed to get the Simone Di Meo variant online. So included it here anyway.

Betsy Cola gifted us with Capt Rubber Duck!

I always love seeing Humberto Ramos on a main cover. It’s fun! The foil variant is another by Marcos Martín. The Pixar anniversary homage cover looks good. And we got an Anka variant of Sue. Also. We got another Ramos cover that was an homage cover to the first FF cover.

Stephanie Hans did this fantastic variant cover. InHyuk Lee gave us this gorgeous Hela cover. And the last variant is a Chip Zdarsky one, and I don’t think I’ve had a cover by his in years.

Another great Momoko variant!

I love the main cover of this MJ issue by Jim Cheung and Jay David Ramos. The first variant that I got is by JeeHyung Lee. And I love the Nakayama variant!

Completed Variant Set 44 — August 21, 2026

So I’m VERY late on this post just because I didn’t have time to make these posts till now. I had planned on taking these photos a couple days after the previous post’s photos, but didn’t end up doing that till last Friday. So I took photos of the next week’s photos first then these, then the set photos for that next week’s issues.

This isn’t technically from this week, the second cover arrived a bit ago, but I forgot about it till last week. The second cover is from September 3, 2025. And the first cover is from May 27, 2026. DC did a weird thing where they stopped the previous run of Batman in November of 2025 because the next run was ready and the Hush 2 event had so many delays. So for 6 months the previous run was delayed while the next run had started. I realized that I hadn’t picked up the other connecting cover, so I found it online.

It’s so nice to finally have these covers together. Now, there is a bit of overlap since the cover of the left side doesn’t go right up to the edge of the actual comic. But it works pretty well otherwise. The left side is by Jorge Jiménez and Tomeu Morey. And the right side is by Jim Lee, Scott Williams and Tomeu Morey.

These are the Ultimate Endgame covers for the final issues of this version of the Ultimate Universe. They’re all by Marcos Martín.

They look great together!

The backs just because they looked nice, haha.

No new boxes were created, but I’d emptied three boxes before this, so they were utilized in other areas.

July 29, 2026

Lobo visited Batman. We got a epilogue for DC K.O. We got a World’s Finest annual focusing on Jonathan Kent and Alfred. For some reason we have a Lex and Batman special. DC gave us its Summer special. We got another Marvel What If. one-shot. This Thor issue is wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey. We got the next Ultimate Impact issue. The Queen in Black event’s main issues started this week. And we got a Rocket Racoon 50th Anniversary special.

The next issue of Galactic! The cover is by Amilcar Pinna.

This Instagram-styled post made by Lobo was by Javi Fernández and Marcelo Maiolo. This is such a fun image.

The main cover and the two variants that I chose for this annual.

The main cover is by Eddy Barrows and Alejandro Sánchez and I got another copy because of Darkseid of course. The first variant is a fantastic one by Mark Spears. And the last one is a wonderful variant by Mario ‘Fox’ Foccillo. The framing looks so good!

The main cover and a variant for this issue.

The main cover is by Dan Mora. I love seeing Alfred and Jonathan Kent on there. And the variant is by Rahzzah. Love that simple scene.

Bruce and Lex look great on this Spears variant. And this Leirix variant of the Bat-Family is fun.

The next photo variants for Supernatural.

The next Werneck What If main cover. And look at this cool Leirix variant of Kate-Locke!

The next X-Men Outback variants. I think that this is the final Blue color block variant from Nakayama.

Fan Yang did a great job on this Rogue variant. And Stormdazzle looks amazing on this Mateus Manhanini variant.

Queen in Black main cover and the variants that I chose. Though, there are many that were blind-bagged (at least everything in the blind bag is only available in the bags this time). Marvel seemed to have listened to us for once.

The main cover is by Ryan Stegman. The first variant is by Iban Coello (it’s so good!). The next one is by Patrick Gleason (two others of his are in the blind bags). Peach Momoko did the next one. And the blank variant is there (there’s a black one in the blind bag). I also went and ordered 20 blind bags just since all of the possible issues are variants and not any of the main covers. Who knows if it’ll happen again.

These are the Momoko variants for two different Queen in Black tie-in.

This is the Star Wars movie poster homage variant for Galactic.

Posters! This first one is of course for the very much upcoming Green Lantern show.

This is the main cover for that title which started this week (the week after the one that these issues are from).

This is the J. Scott Campbell poster of that wraparound cover.

July 22, 2026

I had to wait extra long to get the comics from these weeks so these posts are late. Also, there are a couple NSFW covers in this bunch. Also, SDCC was crazy, see my previous 3 posts.

Action Comics reached its 1100th issue! I can’t believe that it’s been 100 issues since issue 1000! I remember picking that issue up in 2018. Dinah and Oliver stop by in Detective Comics. Manchester Black is causing problems for Superboy Prime. Absolute Superman beats King Shazam. Despero returns in JLU. The Prime Magus is chosen in Zatanna. We got a Godzilla SDCC special. Godzilla in the Marvel universe also got a continued title following the previous one from a month or so ago. We got a Marvel Zero special. Gambit got a new miniseries by Chris Claremont. ASM is creeping up on issue 1000. We got another murder at a Hellfire Gala, but this time it’s a gala not run by the White Queen. And we got reprintings of a JLA/Avengers crossover from 2003.

The Action Comics main cover and the variants that I chose.

The main cover is a great legacy wraparound by Ryan Sook!

Mark Spears has been doing so many covers recently! This Superman one is great! I also love this Lois at the Planet with the paper everywhere. David Talaski drew a fantastic cover. And the third one is a lovely cover by Rahzzah.

This cover is part of a Yasmine Putri set, but I got this mainly because of Kon-El.

The next Harley covers.

I liked this Chew cover a lot.

Another Rahzzah variant, and Diana looks amazing. And I just liked this Detective Comics main cover by Mike Janín.

Superman variants.

I like this Mark Spears variant because it reminds me of a Superman mural that I used to see in the private parking garage of my aunt’s apartment building in Manhattan. It was a classic image of Superman breaking Kryptonite chains that were binding him. The next one is a gorgeous variant by Javi Fernández and Alejandro Sánchez. And the last one is another comic book store themed variant by Eddy Barrows and Alejandro Sánchez.

Variants for JLU!

The first is a fun dynamic variant by Bruno Redondo. The next is of course by Nathan Szerdy. And the last one is Seb McKinnon. It’s looks so much like a painting!

The next Zatanna covers. The main one still by Jamal Campbell.

The first variant is by Adam Hughes. The next is by Eom and that last one I really love a lot, it’s a Mark Spears, but something about the blackness behind Zatanna makes her stand out so much more.

This was just a fun variant for this comic that I got because of the San Diego concention center in the foreground. A touch of recency bias since I was there last month, haha.

NSFW warning.

These are the next Gun Honey variants.

The first variant is by Ivan Tao. The NSFW variant is by Rare Tempter. And the Punisher’s first appearance homage cover is by Nuno Pereira.

The next Hello Darkness Frison variant! It looks so good! And this Godzilla variant I accidentally hid in the main photos above. This is by Giuseppe Camuncoli. I got it because it reminded me of the previous run’s cover set of Marvelized Godzilla covers.

The awesome variants for Remy’s new title!

The foil variant is by Kris Anka. The next one is of course by Artgerm (I’m so happy I can say that I’ve met him now!). And the two wanted poster covers are by Phil Noto.

ASM covers! This blue Nakayama variant is one of the final Blue color block variants.

This one I just found both paying homage and just a cool dynamic shot by Ed McGuinness and Marcio Menyz.

The Hellfire variants that I chose. The second one is the next in the Marvel Snap swimsuit variant set by Inhyuk Lee.

I chose this variant because it was the closest to some of the previous Gala covers in that it’s showing off the outfits well. It’s by R. B. Silva.

These are reprints of this crossover mash-up issue 3 from 2003. The second variant is an Alex Ross connecting cover.

The wraparound variant is by the legendary George Pérez and Tom Smith. the binding made it a bit tricky to get the image displayed.

So many characters to look at!

Completed Variant Set 43 — July 19, 2026

So since I had such a delay the previous week, I had to sort all 4 week’s of comics on one day. But these are still the most recent week’s sets. I just sorted away all of them on one day. It took around 10 hours!!

Here are the wonderful W. Scott Forbes variants.

The lighting and colors are so good! I always enjoy his work. Also these covers are so different!

These are the Mirka Andolfo main covers for Ursula.

Another set where different types of covers are displayed.

I love these half portrait variants covers by Aka! Such great detail!

They do look great next to each other. But also…

They look great vertically! I did my best to line up the saber blades.

But this is the best shot. I hadn’t actually realized that his face was changing till I saw them all together. These look amazing!

I added 3 boxes. So we’re at 126.

July 15, 2026

This was so many issues.

Selena wasn’t having a good day. Tera was making waves. Wonder War! Absolute Grodd! More from Super Sons? Kate and her sister Alice were going bat-to-bat. The new Deathstroke, The Terminator’s identity was revealed. Dark Knights of Steel got a sequel run. The final issue of this first volume of The Kyoshi Warriors dropped. The final issue of Ursula also happened. We got a another What if one-shot about if Jessica Jones had been bitten by the spider that bit Peter. So much is going on with Hulk, or should I say, to his body. We got the second issue of Avengers Armageddon and a tie-in issue via Captain America. And We got a new DSTLRY title with A Mischief of Magpies.

The next Catwoman variants! The first being a Cho and Rich. The second being a Forbes. And the last is a Homare.

This Homare variants looks so good!

So much orange! Though that makes sense with Tera here.

The main cover is by Taurin Clarke of course and the next creative cover is by Ethan Young.

The next Wonder Woman variants. The Nakayama one looks so good! And the other one is by Miguel Mercado.

This looks picturesque.

Another variants my Mirka Andolfo. And another variants by Eom.

Superman Unlimited covers!

The main cover is another by a Taurin Clarke. And the variant is by Zoe Thorogood. It’s reminds me of some piece of art, but I can’t remember what.

The next Batwoman covers. The Stjepan Šejić variant looks great of course.

This Scott Forbes variant looks so good too!

Another variant by Andolfo! Lobo seems to be relaxing.

Deathstroke covers! I had the main cover on here before, but then I changed my mind when I saw that it wasn’t Rose he was fighting.

The first variant is by Jeff Spokes. The next is by Panosian. And the last is by Carlo Pagulayan, Jason Paz and Elmer Santos.

Danny Earls and Jāo Canola did this first variant. And Scott Hanna did the next.

The next Taurin Clarke connecting variant and the next blank in the set.

Werneck is doing a great job with these What If main covers. And the variant is by Michael Gaydos. An artist I haven’t had in a long while.

X-Men covers! The next Nakayama blue block cover look great!

The main cover is by Tony S. Daniel (another name I haven’t heard in a while). And the other Cyclops variant is a great-looking color-bleed cover is by Matteo Della Fonte.

The next Inglorious X-Force covers! The next Nakayama color block variant looks gorgeous.

This variant is by Juann Cabal and IT HAS KAMALA ON IT. Huzzah!!

The next Nakayama variant of Mr. and Mrs. Fantastic. And a fun computer game Galactus’s face.

Simone Di Meo made Jen look fantastic! and I got my first of the 40th Pixar homage variants!

Another Nakayama! Carol looks fab. And one of the Alex Ross Marvel Dimensions variants.

Another Marvel Dimensions variant. Another Nakayama variant, and a nice wraparound cover for the 250th (Semiquincentennial) Anniversary of the country. This was by CAFU.

It looks good.

July 8, 2026

We got the second issue of Absolute Catwoman. There’s trouble brewing for the Emperor of Atlantis. Kara is seeing double. Clayface got a new run started (no doubt to help hype-up the show that drops next month). Firestorm is catching some feelings. The Fugitive Doctor has a multi-media event that just started (Just not on-screen). Sonic the Hedgehog got a 35th Anniversary special. Aladdin got a new run.Rascal Randy got a spin-off of Exquisite Corpses. Shadow of Maul got to its final issue! Now I can read what happened before the show that ended last month. Felicia and Frank are having a time. Jeff got a couple new comics. Taskmaster is all up in Logan’s business. The Uncanny X-Men are dealing with some aliens. I have no idea what’s going on with Wanda. We got a Shalla-Bal special that is akin to the other First Foes one-shots spinning out of the Fantastic Four movie. DSTLRY is back with weekly issues for now. And we got the next issue of the X-Men 97 season 2 prequel comic that will end weeks after this season ends (the same as with Maul).

We finally got the next issue of White Boat!

Love this Andolfo variant for Absolute Catwoman.

John Timms gave us this detailed main cover. And Rahzzah did this amazing cover of Arthur.

This is the next variant of the Emotional Spectrum words. And this is the next Gonzales variant of course.

Supergirl covers! I still don’t know what to do with these as a collection. I think I may just have the main covers and the Artgerm covers together as a collection, and just put the other covers in various artist boxes or the Supergirl character covers box.

The main cover is by Sophie Campbell. I like the color contrast. The Kris Anka variant is orange, huzzah! The Rahzzah cover looks so fun! The next variant is by Karl Kerschl. And the last one is by Arial Diaz.

I really like the main cover by Fran Galán. The colors and line-work are amazing! And the movie poster variants are going to be such fun to get.

Guillem March made this gorgeous variant of Firehawk. And look at that Rahzzah cover of Firestorm!

I’m always happy for a photo variant from Doctor Who.

The main covers for this run are by Nicoletta Baldari. And the Jafar cover is great by J. Scott Campbell! And a blank variant of course.

The main covers are of course by Gurihiru. And Rian Gonzales did this fun foil variant.

The foil works nicely.

I think that this is the last MTG card variant. It’s by Eric Deschamps. And this is another Marvel Television variant.

Another great Baldari cover! Jubilee looks great! And David Mack made Echo look fantastic! And this is one of the first InHyuk Lee Marvel SNAP swimsuit variants.

The next Leirix main cover. Gurihiru did this fun Wanda cover. The Rian Gonzales variant was next. and the Aka variant looks so great!

The colors looks so fantastic!

These covers are just for Galan of course.

The min cover is by Phil Noto of course. The first variant is the Marvel Studios variant. The next variant is by Mark Buckingham.

This is the next animation variant by Vy Tran. And this is an amazing Mingyi Gan variant!

I’m starting to get into this artist.

Completed Variant Set 42 — July 17, 2026

I had a family emergency right after I took the photos of the previous posts. So I had to delay taking these photos for literally a week.

Double Nakayama for this post! This first set is David’s recent Green Lantern covers. It’s cool because he designed the new costume for Hal! And this new character, Odyssey, looks great too! The latter two are consecutive issue and that 600th one is a couple issues before them.

The colors look amazing together!

This connecting set is by Phil Jimenez and Arif Prianto. Such great covers!

The image itself looks fantastic! There were overlap issues for all of these, but only because of the card stock covers always end up being a little more narrow than they should be. Also, I have that poster of this image anyway, so it’s fine if these don’t line up perfectly.

More David Nakayama! This is such a great connecting image! Each of them are drawn and colored so well!

Together they look fantastic! These had misalignment and overlap.

I was still at 123 boxes at this point.

July 1, 2026

The Ōjō returned! Ivy had the power. Darkseid vs Spectre! Power Rangers got another new run focusing on the original MMPR Trini and other rangers throughout time. Saw Gerrera got his own one-shot to celebrate a decade since Rogue One. We got a What if story. The Shadow King is playing games again. War Machine is back! (I’m still so far behind in reading, so I don’t know where he went!) Spidey is still dealing with this new Vulture. We got a Doctor Doom special. And we got another summer special from Marvel. And of course a next issue from a DSTLRY title.

Many Batman covers! Other than the second cover below, I got all the rest because of Ōjō being on the cover.

The main cover is by Jorge Jiménez and Tomeu Morey. Second is a Dustin Nguyen. the next one is by Jorge Molina. The fourth is an incentive cover by David Aja. And the fifth is just a foil version of the main cover.

Such a great variant by Eom! And I love that Darkseid vs Spectre battle going on in the background!

More Deadman variants. One by Alex-Eckman LsA. And another by Mark Spears.

Such a great variant of Trini by Inhyuk Lee. The next is a connecting issue which seemingly includes all rangers. And a blank as usual.

The next Rogue One decade anniversary one-shot featuring Saw Gerrera.

Such a great variant by Werneck! And this Deadpool variant, I wonder if they’ll ever give this one it’s issue similar to how Gwenpool came to be.

The next variants for X-Men United! Love the Nakayama variant and the Inhyuk Lee of Psylocke. the second variant is by Meghan Hetrick.

Such a great cover!

The next Marvel Dimensions from Alex Ross and a gorgeous Hellfire costume swap by Vecchio.

A fun Momoko variant!

These are the covers I got.

The J. Scott Campbell wraparound main cover is fun! And I got most of the variants that I wanted. Always happy to see another Artgerm! And the Aka cover is amazing!

The next City Beneath her Feet.
