These are the three variants of these issues of this title by Stjepan Šejić. I thought that there would be more but I suppose that he’s busy on other covers and his own comics.

These do look good though.

From July 9, 2025 to September 9, 2026 these Rian Gonzales variants ran! I love her art so much, both the chibi and normal proportion versions of characters! These covers are structured like paper doll sheets/cards. There was even a cover of hers in this style that you could cut out and make the paper dolls function. I don’t remember which cover that was for, but it was cool!

They look amazing together! I do have an older set in this style also by Rian. But, it’s still incomplete, I just need to find and buy the remaining variants, which are incentive covers.

It was nice that this day was both new comic book day for the week and my birthday! I turned 36!

The Tidal War began in Aquaman. The Kingdom of Zod event continued. We got the next Death Vigil and Chachu issues. Chachu 1 got a second printing. Cheetara got a new run started. The Book of Boba Fett got a miniseries started that’s essentially the show in comic form. Doomquest continued. The Queen in Black event is almost over. And we got the next Mangaverse issue via Iron Knight.

This is the next Fornés emotion name variant for this title. And at last, this is the final (for now) Rian Gonzales variant for this title. It’ll be part of the next post.

John Timms gave us this tidal wave cover. It just looks so epic! And the variant I chose was another fantastic one by Mark Spears.

I love this Nimit Malavia variant!

These are the next main cover and variant from Stjepan Šejić.

I wasn’t sure if he was doing two covers each wee or just for these first two. Otherwise I would have had this variant and the one from issue 1 be part of a set.

The second issue of Chachu gave us this great window shot. It’s by Marianna Ignazzi. And the other Chachu issue I got is the second printing of the first issue with the same artist just in orange. And the Cheetara variant is a Darboe design.

The two Iron Man variants that I got. The first is of course another Ross Timeless variant.

The next is by Dave Rapoza. I really love the details on this!

These are the variants that I got for this Doomquest issue. The first is the next Vecchio homage cover. The next is as David Mack. And the third is the next Pixar cover, and it’s by Paco Medina.

Always happy to see David Mack covers.

This Black Cat cover is by Josemaria Casanovas. And it’s paying homage to the designs of classic pulp magazine covers and Sci-fi posters from the mid-20th century. The X-Force main cover is by R. B. Silva and David Curiel. Happy that Kamala is on the cover. And the last one is by Yuji Kaku again, it’s the next main cover in the series.

Absolute Batman’s annual from last year got a 4th printing. A Black Label Superman miniseries started focusing on his early days. We got a Weird Al Yankovic one-shot from DC. The Bad Seeds DC event continued. We got a new Teen Titans team led by Red Hood. The Legion of Superheroes got a new run started and the future looks a bit darker than previous versions of it. Speaking of dark, Doom Patrol also got a new dark run started. I guess people really liked the Supernatural 10-issue miniseries and the Castiel special, because not only do we have another special here with Wayward, but there are soon to be two spin-off’s of the comic, one focusing on Sam and another on Dean. We got a facsimile issue of a Doctor Strange and Doctor Doom adventure from the past. No doubt in preparation for Avengers: Doomsday in December. We got a Punisher vs the Marvel Zombies universe miniseries. There was an X-Men 10-issue digital miniseries that got a physical release via X-Men Omega Red Dawn. Spider-Woman got a 50th anniversary one-shot before her new run starts. Marvel had a Mangaverse at some point and we’re getting five one-shots of those characters. Frank and Wade have a mini event series that started this week. Both Queen in Black and Avengers Armageddon continued.

This first variant is by Reiko Murakami. The next one is by Rafa Sandoval and Ulises Arreola, I love the trapped in an action figure box design. And the last one is an Artgerm paying homage to DKR.

The variants that I chose for this new Titans team’s issue 1.

The two non-blank variants are by Dan Mora and then there’s the blank. Though, I really only got this title because I was excited to see Flatline on the team (also Liam’s version of Cheshire). Unfortunately, it seems like Flatline isn’t on the team. She’s not even in the first issue (I flipped through it quickly at the store).

Th main cover is by Hayden Sherman and Tamra Bonvillain. It feels like silver age art.

This Dan Mora variant gave us a celebrity cameo via Michael J. Fox. Mark Spears crafted Braniac. And Yasmin Putri gave us this tense scene with a sprinkle of joy on a cover.

Niko Henrichon did this main cover and also the interior art for this first issue.

The first one, in a lovely x-ray theme is by Jock. And the second one is by Todd Nauck, paying homage to the past.

Alex Ross gave us Crystal. While artist gave us the next Pixar anniversary variant.

Ario Anindito did the main cover and the variant is by the awesome Jim Jiménez.

September 2026 Late Issues

The recent comics are from around now. The large Superman Spider-man issues are the variants of the facsimile crossover issues from a few months ago. And the Gun Honey comics are super-sized.

The blank variants will be so fun to get art on. The other variant is by Alex Ross.

This Momoko variant I got again because I forgot that I’d wanted two, one for the art and one for the character Sightseer. And Flash variant is by Claudio Castellini and Arif Prianto. And this one is a creative cover with him running up the building that is the comic. And I just liked this Derrick Chew variant for Harley.

These oversized covers are by Adam Hughes. And the backing board is there to show the size compared to these issues. I forgot to take these photos till I’d already put away the other issues.

Completed Variant Set 47 — September 8, 2026

These are the Alex Ross connecting variants that are paying homage to the George Pérez and Tom Smith JLA/Avengers 1 cover from 2003.

Because of the softcover, there is an overlap. But they look great together. I’d buy a print of this from Ross.

These are from the first Kingdom of Zod set of connecting covers. This set is by Guillem March.

The last three issues connect decently enough even though there’s a bit of misalignment. Between the first and second cover, there is misalignment too, but also different shades of color used on the same subjects. One example is Kara’s cape.

These amazing 80’s themed variants are by Alexander Lozano.

I had forgotten that he’d done two variants (trade and virgin) in this style last year for Planet She-Hulk 1. I hadn’t bought that cover, so I ordered one. It should be arriving at some point today (sept 12) as I type this. These look great together too. The colors and shading and the outfits all just work. I did two photos since the light I used isn’t a ring-light, it doesn’t get to everything, so I lit these on two sides separately.

These are the three Stuart Fails to Save the Universe variant covers that came out all on the same day. The first is an homage cover by Jason Badower paying tribute to the iconic Crisis on Infinite Earths 7 (1985). The second is by Dan Mora showing the JL at this year’s SDCC for the show’s Hall H panel. And the third variant is by Sean Izaakse.

These are fun promotions of such a fun show!

This set has been a long time coming. 21 issues! These are all by the amazing Frank Cho and some are also by Sabine Rich. The first cover is from October 16, 2024 and the final cover is from August 19, 2026! I love the styles and colors or lack-there-of.

Same for these photos as before, not enough light reaching the correct places, hence two photos. Part of me wishes that these had some kind of pattern visually like this many pencil style, this many full color etc. but also, I don’t mind at all. It’s so wonderful to have all of these together finally! I wasn’t sure when they would finish up this set.

We got another What If story. Frank and Felicia are still having their adventure. Logan was dealing with a lot, as usual. We got an Apocalypse miniseries started. Gwen and Peter seem to be at-odds. This was the last issue of this Supernatural run, but there are a few more titles spinning out of this one. We got more Hello Darkness and Gun Honey. Hal had to deal with Condiment King!? A new arc started in Absolute Wonder Woman. Deadshot got a one-shot (pun very much intended), and it’s even called One Shot. Kingdom of Zod continued. Bad Seeds also continued.

This is such a great classic cover!

Black Cat variants.

Love this Inhyuk Lee variant. And I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve gotten a Kevin Wada cover in a while.

A great David Mack variant. Taurin Clarke gave us this X-Men Outback variant. And Nogi San made this fantastic cover.

The main cover and variants that I chose. The main cover is by Rod Reis. The first variant is a Villalobos cover. The next one is by Fabrizio De Tommaso. I know that Apocalypse isn’t technically on the cover, but there are enough depictions of him on the wall and statue.

Such a great Nakayama variant. It’s paying homage to Spectacular Spider-Man 142 (1988).

The next of my variants for the Power Rangers comic. The Mercado variant has one of my favorite MMPR villains on it. And there’s the next blank variant.

I’m VERY late posting these weeks. I even just took photos of the following two weeks’ comics. I’ll be posting those posts tomorrow.

Static became an official Teen Titan! Nightwing was perhaps having some legal troubles. We got more from the Kingdom of Zod event. We got a What If one-shot based on the Runaways. Certain people didn’t quite feel like themselves in both Uncanny X-Men and Inglorious X-Force. Queen in Black and Avengers Armageddon both continued. And Thor got to its 800th issue!

The New Titans main cover and the variants that I chose.

The main cover is by Taurin Clarke. Everyone on the cover looks amazing! The first and last (foil) variants are by Dike Ruan. Static looks cool with his logo behind him. The foil version looks great! And the second variant with Jon and Virgil is by Lucas Meyer.

Ejikure did this Absolute Flash variant. And Dustin Nguyen made this noir-with-a-splash-of-blue themed variant.

The first variant is by ACO. The second is another Taurin Clarke variant. And the last one of Kon-El is by Mark Spears (he has so many variants out recently!).

Jorge Fornés did this first Batwoman variant. And the other one is the next Stjepan Šejić variant.

I counted it as a creative cover.

Then, we got a Nakayama variant of Lobo!

The main cover is by Carmine Di Giandomenico. The first variant is by Dan Panosian, I like the mirroring design. Dike Ruan did the next variant. And the last one is by Carlos D’Anda. it’s also in the style of the All-In covers from months ago! So, I guess that I’ll add another copy of this to that collection.

I liked this Ash Wood variant for this a Shredder issue! Also, that’s such a cool name.

The next Baldari main cover for Aladdin and variant that I wanted.

Here are the main cover and one of the variants that I liked for this Runaways What If special.

The main cover is a Lucas Werneck masterpiece. And the variant is an homage cover by Betsy Cola based on the What If #1 (1977): What If Spider-Man Joined the Fantastic Four? comic.

The main cover is by Leinil Francis Yu and Dean White. I got it because Sightseer is on it. And same for the Momoko variant. I just love this character design.

Jubilee looks great on this Forbes variant. And we have a gorgeous MJ Queen in Black variant by InHyuk Lee.

Legend of the White Dragon (August 28, 2026)

I’m so glad that this movie was made. While it’s of course sad that Jason David Frank couldn’t see this final version of the movie, he loved making it and believed in its potential.

A movie that was supposed to come out in 2020 and then 2023, it’s faced some of the most crazy hurdles that a movie can face, and yet it’s in over 600 theaters across the country tonight.

The cast did a great job. JDF was fantastic as ever. Every now and then I heard his iconic kiai when he’d fight. His emotions were barred onscreen and I felt them echo. I’m glad that he got to make his version of a Ranger story. It was gritty and dark and certainly had potential.

Aaron Schoenke did such a good job with this movie. He acted, directed, designed, produced, edited and wrote so well! It’s been a lot of work for him and his father as well. Bat in the Sun Productions did great! I certainly felt its style.

The rest of the cast was great! Most actors I knew would be there since I’ve followed the production for all these years, but there were a couple nice surprises. I loved seeing David Ramsey!

The plot was relatively simple and very direct with its intent. It knew what it was and where it was going. The visuals were cool! Though, I would have loved for some larger studio would have given them more money to pour into visuals and make them even more crazy! Haha. It certainly gave off an anime style of fighting.

I certainly wish we could see more of the story on-screen, but seeing it continued in a comic would be great too. I’m happy that fans who could make these screenings got to see this movie finally. And to have it be on Power Ranger Day (33 years of the franchise) was even more wonderful.

I’ve been a fan of Jason David Frank since, like most of us, I was a kid. He was and still is my favorite Ranger. I got to meet him once in 2016 and he was so kind. I wish I’d gotten to meet him again.

This movie was, in fact, morphenonmenal!

I named this 46 instead of 45 because there’s another set that I still have to take photos of. It’s a huge set, so I haven’t been able to take the photos of them all. I hope I can get to it this upcoming week.

Pasqual Ferry and Matt Milla did a great job with this connecting cover set!

There was a little bit of overlap, and a touch misalignment. But it looks good.
