Completed Variant Set 39 — May 24, 2026

These are the Babs Tarr main covers! They look so great! It’s always nice when an artist is doing the main covers and the interior art. Though, it’s probably super stressful for them.

I wasn’t sure which configuration I liked best, stacked or lined up, so I did both.

I normally do connecting variant sets first but it just made sense to do this after the main cover set. These are by Tula Lotay.

There was slight overlap between all the issues and maybe a little misalignment, but at least they could be arranged as actually connecting for once!

These are the animation variants by Chris Jones. I will have to get the other animation variants from the previous run. I think I only have the variant for the first issue.

These look good together.

And these are of course the David Nakayama main covers for this most recent Rogue miniseries. This also has a second printing of the first issue!

These look so good together! Especially seeing the first and second printings together to spot the slight and obvious differences.

Added only one box, so we’re at 121.

We got the final issue of this Sirens run. Black Mask is messing with Selina. I think this is the final issue of the current arc in Wonder Woman. Absolute Green Arrow got a title. The Next Level titles continued. Escape from Skull Island got its final issue. Danielle Moonstar is diving into her past. Rogue also got to its final issue in this run. Spore is coming for Spidey. The road to Avengers Armageddon continued. We got a new Ultimate universe miniseries where new characters were introduced. And Sai got its final issue.

The final main (by Babs Tarr) cover and Lotoy variant for this Sirens miniseries.

Seba Fiumara gave us this creepy Catwoman main cover. And the two variants that I usually get from Cho and Forbes respectively.

I like this creative Titans variant by Ethan Young.

The main cover by Daniel Sampere and Tomeu Morey. The next Nakayama variant. And a fun Sonic crossover Leirix variant.

Gerald Parel gave us this front profile of Absolute Green Arrow. And Lotoy did the second variant. The third is the blank.

The next creative Nightwing cover by Fornés.

Taurin Clarke does a great job with this cover with that amazing reflection on the bars. Karen Darboe did the first variant I got. And the last one is just for Connor being on it. But it’s also a fun variant by Anthony Marques, J. Bone and Dave Stewart.

The next variants for Deathstroke. The first by Brad Walker and Trish Mullvihill the second by Dan Panosian and the third by Howard Porter and Hi-Fi.

A great homage cover by Simon Parr. Of course it’s paying homage to Action Comics 1 from 1938.

The main Leirix cover and a variant by Nogi San.

I love this Moonstar main cover by Germán Peralta. Showing Danielle’s past on the cover. And I love the art of Rickie Yagawa on this FF variant.

We got another MTG variant with card art by InHyuk Lee. Ultimate Wonder Man got a first appearance variant by Stefano Caselli. And he also did the other variant portraying another new character, Sightseeer. I really like her design!

Now, I got another copy of the main cover even though Kamala isn’t on it, her grave stone and thus, her kind of is on it, haha. It’s the closest thing to the main cover of this run to have her on the main cover as has been so far. And the variant does have her head at least.

The final Sai main cover by Momoko and this cute variant by Benjamin Su.

Posters! This first is for the Jor-El Elseworld miniseries.

The next is for a new run or new volume of Galaxy’s story!

This is just for the current Superman event. Though, it’s already been going, so maybe this is a late poster.

Young Clark meets some future friends. Black Manta is after Arthur, surprise, surprise. The Manhunter Queen arrives! Kara is having problems with the Black Flame. Babs is off to prison and part of Next Level! We got the penultimate issue of Shadow of Maul. Knull has a new look. MJ and Felicia are hanging out still. Tony, Steve, various X-Men, all having problems. And the Death Spiral event had its epilogue issue. Also, we got a Brand New Day miniseries started which is set back then during that classic Spidey event.

I think this is my first cover by Ariel Diaz. I’m not certain, but I’m relatively sure. It looks amazing!

These are the next GLC variants by Fornés and Gonzales respectively.

Always happy to see Kon-El on a cover! And Kara looks great in the jacket! Thank you Chloe Brailsford. And the Firestorm cover by Rafael De Latorre and Marcelo Maiolo is a nice homage to the Vitruvian Man by Leonardo da Vinci.

Babs looks fantastic in these Nakayama variants! I wish he were doing the main covers for this run! The foil looks great! And of course I got a blank variant.

The next Frison variant for Hello Darkness.

The next Maul variants from Aka and Gist. I love seeing present day Zeb!

A fantastic InHyuk Lee variant that I got because Maystorm is on there. And I like how Wanda looks on this cover by Josemaria Casanovas.

I got another copy of this Ross main cover because it’s kind of a physical fourth wall break. I mean I know it’s them breaking through a Roxxon billboard, but it’s close enough! And here’s one of the 20 MTG card variant covers. There were a lot this time! Also, that’s an amazing card. The card art is by Zoltan Boros.

This Rogue in the cloak of levitation looks great by Vecchio. And the MTG variant is by Javier Charro.

May 2026 Late Issues

These are the other two variants for SWI’s final issue. The carbonite one is cool since it’s a foil cover.

I didn’t take individual photos of these two last time, so I decided to now. The main cover looks great, though I wish it just showed all the covers alone. And I love seeing Ralph McQuarrie art on the variant.

They all look great together!

Just another copy of the JLI special. And then an homage variant paying tribute to the Akira motorcycle slide from the movie.

Bruce and Babs are having trouble. Mayor Ivy has bad press. Spectre drama continues in JSA. The Batman/Static miniseries ended with this issue. Guy Gardner got a one-shot. The Kyoshi Warriors got a miniseries started. Ben 10 got a new title. We got the first Rogue One prequel one-shot to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the movie. A lot is going on in all the X-titles. Invincible Woman is causing havoc in Fantastic Four. Carol is still dealing with issues of her past. We got a Civil War miniseries started set during those events. Miles got a one-shot with collected issues 1-6 from a digital series from last year. Jubilee got a new run started. This issue of Star Wars Insider is the final issue ever! 237 issues (plus special editions). I forgot to take photo of them alone. Though I got two other variants from this issue today, so I’ll just take the photos of them all tomorrow. And those MTG variant covers will be a 20-issue set eventually!

I love the details on this Jorge Molina variant! Mirka Andolfo gave us this Batman and Shadow variant. Katana looks amazing on this John Giang AAPI month variant.

Another Jessica Fong main cover. And a cool Manny Vincent Carbonilla variant where Pam looks suave.

Jeff Dékal gave us this Absolute Superman variant. And here’s the next David Talaski cover.

The main and variant for this issue featuring The Spectre! The main by Diego Olortegui, and the variant by Seba Fiumara.

I love seeing the Batman Beyond Justice League members all on a cover plus new characters that I hadn’t seen on this version of the team yet. Thank you to Carmine Di Giandomenico! The next variant is another great Aja variant. We got a blank variant for the Kyoshi Warriors issue. This new Ben 10 run’s first issue’s variant looks great with all the aliens by Duncan Rouleau.

We got another Ryan Meinerding concept art variant. And I really like this dynamic variant by Bill Sienkiewicz.

Love this Aka variant of Carol. And this What If Gurihiru variant is fun.

Taurin Clarke gave us this Miles main cover. And Jubilee looks amazing by Fanyang!

April 29, 2026

We got the first issue of a forgotten Swamp Thing story finally being printed. We got a new one-shot with Dreamer and Galaxy in it where there’s a new JL team being made. Zatanna got a new run. Street Sharks got a new run. We got a Doom 2099 one-shot. And Wiccan’s final issue dropped.

More variants with Dreamer! This first one is by Yasmine Putri. It’s amazing! And the next one is a great Star Wars poster homage cover by Dan Mora.

A new Zatanna run means a bunch of great variants!

Jorge Corona and Sarah Stern gave us this fun first variant. The next is a gorgeous one by Eom. And I love the two poster covers by Adam Hughes! Normal and foil versions look wonderful! And a blank variant of course.

And there’s another blank variant! This one for Street Sharks. I really like this Ultimates cover by Dike Ruan and Neeraj Menon, they made Ultimate Surtur look great! This fantastic She-Hulk cover blew me away. I just love the mirroring. Hence the flipped photos. Love it! Thank you to Aaron Kuder and Sonia Oback. And the last one is a Marvel Comics Presents by Taurin Clarke.

Another great Momoko variant! And this Juan Ferreyra variant is a fantastic dynamic cover.

I love this anime-style X-23 cover by Jhony Caballero. And the Ivan Talavera variant is awesome!

Doom via Momoko.

We got the next color block Nakayama variant and the Marvel Television variant.

There’s also a second printing of this cover with red writing for the title.

April 2026 Late Issues 2

Way late posting these next posts. I even got new comics today. So I’ll be taking new photos tomorrow.

The Wonder Woman variant by David Nakayama from last time that was damaged, arrived in better condition this time. And these are all the Spider-Man/Superman crossover variants!

Such a great Nakayama variant!

Here are all the variants I chose!

The first is the blank of course. The next is by the wonderful Humberto Ramos showing Lana Lang and Gwen Stacy having lunch. Ivan Talavera did a great job with Kara and Cindy.

This wraparound by Kaare Andrews has so much going on! I love seeing all these characters together!

Love these logos!

Kara and Gwen look fantastic from Momoko! Russell Dauterman did a glorious job with this cover! Clark, Diana, Jane and Peter!? I had to get two of them. Walt Simonson gave us this Steel and Thor cover!

Giuseppe Camuncoli did this Civil War homage wraparound cover!

And this Adam Hughes variant is fun!

Completed Variant Set 37 — April 30, 2026

This is the Iban Coello connecting set! Each of them look great individually, and they do look good together.

I did my best with connecting them, as usual, some connect vertically, some connect horizontally. There is a variant that has all the designs on it, but it costs $100. It’s still not a bad 9-cover connecting set compared to other sets.
