Dick Grayson made a big decision about what to do with the inheritance he got from Alfred, he got a puppy and Blockbuster was making moves, Black Adam joining the JL caused some growing pains, Jessica Drew got her classic costume back after what the other costume was really doing, Krakoan residents were under mental attack, Carol asked Stephen to just teach her magic (if I remember correctly, he literally laughs), Champions started a new arc about some funky technology from a dubious company, Eternals had drama, Hela and Karnilla drama in the new run for Mighty Valkyries, Fisk drama in Spidey, we got the Women of Marvel special, and I liked the cover and story of Laila Starr, so I got the first issue here (then got all the rest as they came, since it was great!)

April 14, 2021

Diana was having afterlife troubles, Clark and Jon went to visit an old friend of Clark’s off-world, things don’t go as planned, Doctor Who’s Missy got a title, people weren’t fans of Maestro, Logan had vampire problems, the Power Pack got caught in a trap, Black Cat was very busy liberating various items from all over the place, the Children of the Atom made moves, Guardians new era began at issue #175, Hellcat needed Moondragon’s help, the Prey finale happened in Thor, and there were some more KIB issues.

April 7, 2021

The Unsanity Collective made itself known, and Fear State was brewing, Teen Lantern (from Young Justice) went to Oa (there was drama), Nico had problems with her staff, Phoenix had chosen its new host, Hulk was de-powered, Tombstone’s daughter and Robbie Robertson’s son were dating (their father’s found out), America Chavez was starting to find out that family history wasn’t exactly what she thought it was, this Venom issue was the last issue before issue 200, a lot was going on, KIB 5 dropped, and Magic: The Gathering trading card game got BOOM! to make a comic series (the story has been fun and the cover art has been great!).

Got two late DWM issues.

Godzilla vs Kong (2021)

March 31, 2021 – Godzilla vs Kong.

That was a fun movie XD. Defo a movie I would have loved to see in theaters. We had the two stories run alongside each other the majority of the film till the apex (lol) of the story. Bits and pieces from the other three movies fit decently into this. I still would have loved content between these films, like an animated miniseries, or a couple comics just to connect a few more dots. But other than that, I enjoyed it.

As with literally every X vs Y movie, they eventually will something else. I don’t consider that a spoiler, because that’s literally how VS story-lines work. I do wish that part had lasted a bit longer. And I wish the two sets of cast would have interacted more at the end, but it made sense with how things were that they didn’t.

There is more of a dive into the history and origin of the Titans and that’s pretty cool ^__^ I liked that stuff a lot.

I think this movie had a better balance than the first Godzilla and maybe more than Godzilla 2 of monster screen time and human screen time. Or at least they cut it in a way where I didn’t feel like the human stuff overtook the monster stuff.

Generally I enjoyed this and I know that if this had been in theaters, there would have been mid or end-credit scenes. I suppose they choose to not do that for now till things go back to normal ish.

I hope we get more from this world. It’s a fun universe to watch. ^__^

March 31, 2021

Felicia had to deal with a copycat, the X-Men in The Vault escaped, Capt had this run’s antepenultimate issue, Silk got a new run, Beta Ray Bill got a run dealing with the after effects of Knull in space, there were more KIB issues, Wally had decided to step away from being The Flash but some crazy things happened and his mind was sent backwards and forwards in time into predecessors and descendants respectively, Power Rangers got an Ecliptor and Astronema one-shot, we got an Other History issue for Tastu Yamashiro (Katana), and the next SW Insider.

Image two is the STUNNING Jen Bartel variant for Silk 1, and the first Man-Thing mini-event Avengers special. They came the following week.

And lastly, there’s a poster of a future Yara cover. Movie next!

March 24, 2021

Harley got a new run for IF, Teen Titans Academy combined the Teen Titans title and the Titans title and gave us the first comic appearance of Red X from the Teen Titans animated series, Jon tried his best to save Clark, the Pantheon had Maestro beaten…, Miles was getting over what happened during KIB, Wakanda Prime awaited the rogue empire for war in the penultimate issue of this legendary run, Betsy and Kwannan had a lot going on, the end of this era of Guardians ended, KIB still was happening (yes that Miles issue mentions him being post-KIB but that’s just because comics sometimes fall behind or get printed bit ahead during a big event, never mind during a pandemic).

Justice League (The Snyder Cut) (2021)

OKAY, so, as I was posting comic posts and movie posts, I got mixed up when one movie was in Feb 2020 and this one was in march 2021. I didn’t notice the year and so I posted 7 movie posts way before they should have been posted. So, if somehow anyone saw this and others that disappeared and returned later, that’s why.

March 18, 2021 – So. The Snyder Cut. 4 hours/6 parts + THE EPILOGUE later.

Gonna be honest, it’s been a long time since I watched the theatrical cut. So, I can’t entirely remember most of how the theatrical cut happened. I realized the order of scenes were corrected, I know the extra scenes, and I know this isn’t canon to the DC films. I REALLY WISH this (or a version of it) had been the theatrical cut.

From how much I remember comparing the two cuts, I defo liked this much better. The story made so much more sense XD.

The added background scenes for Barry and Victor and the opening scene for Diana etc. made the story work so much better. Each character works more naturally. Barry had more to do, both he and Victor were very important to the plot. And Diana’s story and the Amazon’s story works SO MUCH BETTER.

The epilogue. Soooo much awesomeness. XD I really want the stories suggested during it to continue in canon.

But who knows, if this cut gets enough love, WB might make some changes. We can only hope. (thus far, in 2022, nope.)

In short, I enjoyed this cut SO much more than the theatrical cut.

March 10, 2021

While Matt was in prison, Electra became the new Daredevil, Hulk and other titles continued to make me HATE Henry Peter Gyrich (hated him in X-Men: TAS and still do), Peter got a new costume as art of a rebranding of sorts, he also got a new title called Non-Stop Spider-Man (it promised lots of action and it delivered, it continues today under a slightly different name), Children of the Atom started (a series following some mutant kids who didn’t/haven’t/couldn’t get the Krakoa), Deadpool celebrated his 30th Anniversary with a birthday bash of an issue (also a fun live-streamed event that I got to watch), while with the Legion, Jon saw that Clark’s history stopped at a certain point and that point was coming very soon, a breach in space started things off by hurting Clark in a way he couldn’t heal from, as a way to tell more stories, Batman had a companion title called Batman Urban Legends that would give us other stories going on at the same time as the main stories in Batman and Detective Comics issues, Joker got a title, and when Diana died, she showed up where she wasn’t meant to (it’s a great story-arc that recently ended).
