Late issues.

Late issues.

At this point Marvel was having distribution problems I think, hence no Marvel during that week (after starting the post for the week after this I saw that I got all the issues by then, so I added them after posting this post initially).
Superman and the team made it to Warworld (things went very badly), Harley and Ivy were doing their best, the Outsiders had some future help in one of the Batman Urban Legends stories, and we got the second issue of Superman and Lobo. And for the Marvel ones: The Thing got a story set in the past, Betsy and Arthur were at arms, Morbius guested in ASM, Venom got a new run with Dylan being the lead, and Thanos had been voted the Prime Eternal.
Got a couple posters.

November 4, 2021 – I just got out of Eternals! XD. I went into this knowing that the history of the Eternals wasn’t as similar as it could have been, compared to the comics, so I was a bit worried about that. Reducing their history from 1 million years (in the comics) down to 7000 was jarring. But I was still very excited for this.
Okay, so, this was fantastic! XD not as much Celestial stuff as I wanted, but I feel like that kind of movie could be in the future. This was dense as many of the people who complained about it have said. But I enjoyed that aspect. There are a lot of characters and we have to know them well enough to care about their stories. I think it did a good job of that. I still think it would have been better to have two movies, one set solely in the past and this movie’s story could have been set in present day. But eh.
Of course the problem with having so many characters is that one wants more time with each other them. There are certainly some characters who I wish they’d focused more on. But, I’m sure we’ll get to them in the future.
They did change aspects of what Eternals are and how they came to be. Power sets were changed too. Instead of each having an assortment of abilities, each Eternals has one main ability and of course all a prolonged lifespan.
Each Eternal had their own passions and personalities that we saw throughout the movie. Some changed and some didn’t too much in their long history.
I have to say, there were twists and turns I didn’t see coming. I think they worked well. Again, time will tell about certain aspects of those events.
There were a few references to the others in the MCU, though I will say, most of them are shown to us in the trailers. So don’t expect too many more.
I enjoyed the story and what they crafted it to be and even though it was different than what I had expected, it wasn’t jarring.
I certainly expect a sequel at least, though wouldn’t mind if it were to cross over with another MCU property.
Mid-credit scene: Yes! XD this was a bit spoiled for me, but so much happened in the movie that I basically forgot to expect it XD. It hints at a sequel or some such continuation.
End-credit scene: Yes!! This one was intriguing. I wasn’t sure what to expect for this one. I am excited about what it suggests though. Though I need to talk to a friend who’s also seen it to help me figure out some things XD. (Blade, it was Blade.)
I’m very ready for the MCU to be more cosmic since the cosmic beings are my favorite aspect of marvel conics. So, bring it on Marvel Studios!!
DC gave us a maxiseries called Dark Knights of Steel (basically, the DC universe based in medieval times), Icon & Rocket were doing good but disrupting everything, some of the TT Academy students had to thwart Grodd, Crush had an unexpected date, Scarecrow’s plans continued, Superman & the Authority had a special where Bruce found out what they were doing, in WOTBH Leia and Qi’ra met for the first time (oh, right, Crimson Dawn returned during WOTBH. Surprise!), and we got a couple TDODS issues.
Movie next.

late issues of Sweet Paprika variants and the Wonder Woman 80th Anniversary wraparound variant.

We learned that Damian enjoys manga, Yara’s journey continued, Slade was not prepared for a medieval adventure, we got the penultimate issue of Checkmate, Fear State continued, Taskforce Z started, Gyrich was causing trouble for S.W.O.R.D., Electra and Bullseye battled it out, WOTBH, Darkhold and Inferno all continued.
The poster below is of that Ms. Marvel Special cover from the week previous.

Issues from Wonder Woman Day 2021.

Ben and Alicia’s new kid’s first Halloween didn’t go quite as planned, Thor needed a spy and went to Throg, TDODS continued with a past Stephen helping, we got a series focusing on Echo as she learned to be the Phoenix and about her past in Phoenix Song Echo, Nubia got a run that would lead up to a Wonder Woman event, the Kent farm was no more, Shazam’s series ended, Wally had to prevent many villains from obtaining a suspicious glaive, and Fear State continued.

Got this JL: Last Ride 6 variant because of the Darkseid cover, Harley TAC comic continued, Superman and the Authority ended before the plan was to happen, Diana returned to the land of the living, Shang-Chi and Iron Man had words, Kang and Doom saw things differently, Colossus was a pawn, the first Darkhold special dropped (each hero who Wanda tried to save during the Darkhold Alpha got their lives warped into a twisted horror story), Taskmaster was hunting Miles and Tiana, Jen was still Red, the Eternals got another special, Tony and his friends reunited to all confront Korvac and his cohort inside Taa II, Peter was in a coma, the last issue of Gamma Flight had the team confront Abomination, and Immortal Hulk had its final issue at 50 (it was a crazy ending! Loved it!), and we got a Ms. Marvel special which included re-printings of stories past.

Dark Ages continued to be a crazy ride, Betsy visited the vampire kingdom of Otherworld, Kulan Gath had won in Savage Avengers creating a new horrid timeline of death and destruction, Shadow King was still making his moves and some were trusting and others were suspicious, the Defenders went to the Fifth Cosmos where wild magic ruled, we got an Eternals special focusing on the Celestials, Spider-man 75 dropped starting a new run entering the Beyond arc, the Last of the Marvels arc continued as they went after Kamala, this Champions run ended at issue 10, Crush had to track Lobo down after he used her to escape, we got a DC Halloween special, Batman had an old foe return in Batman TAC, JLI gave us Diana taking a trip to another universe where some stuff happened, Peacekeeper-X was after Peacekeeper-01, and Wonder Woman got its 80th Anniversary special.
