Wildwood (Fan First Early Screening- October 19, 2026) October 23, 2026

Well, unsurprisingly, this was a fantastic movie!

As always, LAIKA Studios did an amazing job with Wildwood. The visuals were spectacular. I still am baffled how stop-motion animation can look so good. And bravo to the hours and years of time that these movies take.

The story was essentially what trailers told us. Not too complicated or twisty and turny. It still was very well-done. The highs were exciting and breathtaking. The emotions were well crafted.

The cast was fantastic! I forgot how many amazing actors were in this! Some I knew were because I follow them online, but other big names went over my head completely.

The music was also a wonderful part of this movie. Everything flowed well and sounded amazing.

I also will say that there were aspects of this movie that were darker than I expected.

There’s one thing I would have changed slightly near the end, but otherwise, it was all amazing.

Mid-credit scene: Not really, but the mid-credits did have storytelling in them that continued the story in small ways. And then, as LAIKA does, there’s a small bit showing something from the movie and seeing how they were made and moved. Those sequences always are wonderful to see. I think I have only one LAIKA movie on DVD/Bluray, and the behind the scenes sequence at the end of that movie was gorgeous.

End-credit scene: Nope, other than the silhouettes of characters from their other movies forming the logo.
