Very late with these next posts. Last week there was a little bit of flooding in the basement, so things got delayed a lot.
The most recent Deadpool volume, the next SWI issue, and some late comics.
This is the first Retro Vision variant that I got, I don’t think I’ll get many, but I liked this one. And I liked the main cover of this Demona issue by Meghan Hetrick. And this is the virgin variant for that Heat Seeker issue from a couple weeks ago.
A much smaller, thankfully for my wallet, bunch of comics! And there’s a tiny NSFW warning further down the page, but it’s not too bad.
Goofy is the star of the next Marvel Disney What If! Peter, MJ and many of his rogues gallery are stuffed in to this one-shot. Werewolf By Night got a one-shot. Say hello to the Ultimate versions of Wanda and Pietro! We got the final issue of The High Republic title! I wonder what we’ll see next from the High Republic. Meanwhile, we did get the first issue of a miniseries staring Kit Fisto! The second issue of Demona dropped. We got both the Titans and Nightwing annuals. The We Are Yesterday event got an Aftermath special. And we got a Summer special from DC!
The next DSTLRY comic! What a fun cover!
An homage to the classic 1962 Amazing Fantasy 15 cover from Goofy! And a fun homage variant cover, though I can’t remember which one. I know I’ve seen other comics pay homage to this design before, but I’m not sure which issue it’s referring to.
I love these Ultimate character designs!!
Dauterman’s next main cover and a gorgeous Leirix cover of Wanda!
Mephistoooooo.
See, a little bit NSFW, but not so bad. These are great Derrick Chew covers! Still waiting on one of the variants that’s a virgin variant of the main cover.
Darkseid! And I love this Donna Troy cover by Lotay!
The next March sets.
Oh look, more Darkseid! Also, Szerdy did a great job with Gold Beetle!
There were a lot of comics this week too. Not as much as last time, but still!
The next Aphra dropped. Jeff and his shadow self are still butting heads. Peter drops by Gwenpool. This is the 250th issue of Moon Knight! Cable visits with his mother. Sabretooth and Logan have words and claws. Ororo on the board?? Trouble brewing for the White Queen? Doom’s event continues. A new arc or story begins with Green Lantern. Flash gets a one-shot involving The Shade. The Legion gets corrupted by Darkseid perhaps, in this Superman issue? There is a Darkseid event coming soon! The World Forger returns! And we got the next issue for the New History of the DC Universe!
Gurihiru gave us a lovely cover for Jeff! This is the 250th issue of Moon Knight! And I love this Phoenix cover! Cable, Jean, the colors, the flames, all of it!
I love Victor’s classic costume almost at much as I do his 90’s look. Hence, these covers.
David Nakayama doing another masterful main cover! And Jenny Frison doing the same!
This of course was for the homage aspect. No doubt picked for July because of the FF movie.
I had forgotten that this was a wraparound cover, so I had to get two.
Homare and Lotay doing amazing jobs here!! The details in Homare’s art is just stunning. And I always love Lotay’s coloring.
It was cool to see The World Forger (Alpheus) on a cover, and in a comic, again! and the legacy of the current JL roster is nice to see.
I can’t quite remember what specifically I liked about this Absolute Martian Manhunter cover other that the abstract style, but eh, it is a fun cover. And Rahzzah did such a great job on this Mr. Terrific cover!
The next March covers in the sets.
The next covers in each set for the New History of the DC Universe
This Marvel Rivals variant is from a few months ago, I wasn’t sure if I’d gotten it, but apparently I hadn’t, so when I saw it, I decided to get it. Specifically for Galacta. The Peacemaker cover is for the anime style. The Archie meets Jay & Silent Bob was just a nice variant that I got in my box unintentionally.
These are the main cover and the variants for this issue from last time. The mom is for the artist, InHyuk Lee. The second is for the animated style similar to the show. And the last is just the cool logo. Though, I thought it would be a foil cover.
The min cover of Ultimate X-Men because Mei is front and center. And that Zatanna min cover from last time is just amazing.
Another week of the issues almost not fitting on the bed!
We got the next issue for Jason Todd and Batman. We got a free Shark Week Aquaman issue. Absolute Flash has some problems with heat. The next issue of Superman Unlimited dropped. The final issue of the High Republic Adventures dropped. Ironheart visited the Exceptional X-Men. We got a preview issue for this Fall’s Age of Revelation event. The next issue of Ultimate X-Men dropped. A new character named Nightdrifter debuted in New Champions’ penultimate issue. The next issues of Death of Silver Surfer and Imperial dropped. Kamala’s next Giant-size issue arrived and Godzilla destroys the Marvel universe debuted with Godzilla destroying a Celestial.
NEXT WEEK IS SAN DIEGO COMIC CON!!!!! ALSO, NEXT WEEK IS FANTASTIC FOUR (Though, I’ll have to wait till July 28th to watch it)!!!!
Always happy for more Slade on covers!
The next fun Nightwing cover.
Love these Zatanna covers! Frank Cho and Sabine Rich did a great collaboration as always. And Homare added so much detail in the other variant!
The next March set.
Artgerm had two covers this week on these two titles.
Nakayama did a fantastic job with Battlebeast! And this is the next connecting cover for Bad Batch. And I was very happy to see Ironheart on a cover!
The next Ultimate X-Men set!
A retro cover for this issue and a very creepy looking cover by Ryan Brown.
The next Nakayama cover for this run. And a very cool monochromatic cover of Lady Bullseye.
Another new character on a variant of their debut issue. And yes it’s a skull, but it’s still Galactus!
I love this cover of Lilandra by Clarke. And this is the next connecting cover.
The next Kamala Giant-Size issue with these great covers! The main one of course the next homage cover. The second being a gorgeous one of Wanda. And the third one being an homage cover to the House of M #1 by Joe Quesada.
Another gorgeous variant with Mother Sorrow on it.
Such fun covers! JTC is doing a set of these action figure variants, and the ones revealed look great!
The wraparound main cover looks so good by Brooks! And I liked that we got a variant with the cartoon versions of those characters on it.
We got another Jeff title. Laura has a returning villain. We have a new character debuting in Uncanny X-Men. Fantastic Four started its new run just in time before the new movie comes out next week. We got a summer special from Marvel. We also got a tie-in one-shot comic for the Fantastic Four movie. It’s different than the previous tie-in comics from the MCU’s past, this one is an in-universe comic that the Future Foundation published. Since the movie is next week, I had to read this issue, it was great! The Return to Skull Island title finally debuted after a few delays. Mogo is on fire! Fire and Ice have a great ape problem. We got the next DSTLRY issue. And Superman got a huge treasury-sized issue. I already ordered some bags and boards for these issues. It’s always fun to see comics in large formats like this.
A fun Chrissie Zullo Uminga cover with all the Marvel pets! And I like this Greek pottery styled cover.
This is the introduction of the character Mutina. I love the main cover being a horror VHS cover design. And Ejikure did an amazing job with this variant.
So many wonderful variants for this new run!
I love this Ross homage variant! And this Yoon cover of Sue looks fantastic! And there’s the blank.
Another great bunch of covers!
The main cover being a wraparound was nice. Adam Hughes did a great job. I love the Dauterman one too! The colors are fun. Clarke did a nice job with Peter and Kwannon. Jonny (I think?) and Wanda look great thanks to Villalobos. And I love that Brooks wraparound! It reminds me of a similar Super-family cover set. There were so many variants I didn’t get, but they all were great!
The main cover for this FF issue is for the homage of course. The next Frison variant for Hello Darkness. And another Gonzales cover!
It’s always nice to see a Lotay cover. And this is a nice homage cover to the famous Death in the Family cover.
The next March variants.
I love these covers so much!
Clark with the faces of people from around the world exemplifies what he is to everyone. I’m happy that Jurgens and Breeding got to do a cover! The main cover had the classic crest on the back, and so did this one.
The collage of all these character looks wonderful! Thank you Koblish!
And I had to get the movie poster variant. It’s such a fantastic poster! And I love the movie’s Superman crest being on the back.
The Demona issue was supposed to be out a month or so ago, all the other issues were just from last time.
Love this Spears variant! And gotta have a blank variant. Another two copies of Deadpool’s 350th issue main cover for art and Ellie. Gotta have a Galactus cover. And this foil cover for the SWI magazine was fantastic. And of course I had to have another copy of Marvel Zero with Kamala front and center.
These were the previously mentioned only other variants for the Hellfire Vigil. They’re both great, but I still am very disappointed that Marvel didn’t give Dauterman and Nakayama any variants for this issue.
Also, these posts are all very very late because of a number of things that delayed me buying them and delayed me typing these posts up.
Batgirl must die? The Secret Six seem to be in a disagreement. We got a new run for Gotham City Sirens! We got a prelude to Days of Future Past by Claremont. The heir to Apocalypse is incoming? The final issue of this run of Ghost-Spider dropped as-well-as the final issue of Immortal Thor, with a new run starting soon for both titles. (Marvel really should stop doing these miniseries and just have good long-running arcs. Number 1’s don’t really mean anything anymore). Captain America got a new run. And Deadpool sort of got a new run, but as a group comic with both Wolverines and Ellie. The Hellfire Gala got a vigil issue. I have a lot to say about the variant covers that Marvel commissioned for this issue. It’s down by the one cover I got. And I think this is late, but we got a Marvel Zero issue which is giving us small peeks into things coming soon, but some of them have already started, so this one-shot anthology may have gotten delayed, or one story in it had new information only recently revealed. And we got the first new DSTLRY comic in months since the huge printing publishing issues it went through. And then there are a couple posters and pins at the bottom.
Love this VHS variant! And I’ve been waiting for months for this Batman 89 variant!! The issue itself kept getting delayed. I love the visual theme and symmetry of the art.
These are the next Guillem March connecting covers for the Sirens.
The next Ranger team variant, and the same Red Ranger that I like covers of.
Of course this prelude’s main cover is an homage cover to the original Days of Future Past cover. And I love the character design for Sister Sorrow! I know I said that before, but it’s great!
The next Jedi Knights covers of each respective set.
A gorgeous cover by Fan Yang. And another fantastic cover of Gwen by Mark Brooks. And of course, this luminous Thor cover by Alex Ross.
Surprisingly, there weren’t many variants of this number 1 that caught my eye. But I’m happy to have the blank and then the 250th Anniversary of the United States cover.
These are all because of Ellie, as y’all know.
This title really was disappointing in the variant cover selection. This is seemingly the farewell to those lost during the last Gala, and those Galas gave us so many wonderful designs of characters, and they gave us 4 different cover designs. That’s it. AND, neither David Nakayama nor Russell Dauterman got to do variants for this when they have so very many covers during these Galas over the past 5 years. It really is embarrassing of Marvel to have snubbed them (and probably many other artists). But this Aka variant is nice. I’m still waiting on the other two variants.
And these are the DC posters I got.
And I also got these from the store. Unlike other promotional pins, Marvel decided to charge for these. $2 each. But it’s nice to have these classic designs for the Fantastic Four.
Wow! I didn’t realize I was at post 700 yet! I puked have liked my Superman post to have been the 700th, but eh, that’s fine.
This was another week with SO many comics. At least it didn’t overflow like last time. But still this was a lot.
We got the next Wolverine and Kitty Pride comic. This is the final issue of this run of Spider-Boy. We got some digital comics collected in an issue during the Fall of X. This is also the final issue of this run of Fantastic Four, before the new run starts very soon. This is also the final issue of this run of Deadpool, but it’s also the 350th issue! Another title continues Wades adventures in a four-way team-up title. We got the next Giant-Size one-shot in Kamala’s adventure. The final issue of Sweet Paprika: Open For Business dropped. The penultimate issue of Vigilante/Eagly miniseries arrived. Is Red Arrow dead again? Flash is dealing with Eclipso while Mr. Terrific deals with Spectre. The final(ish) issue of the All-In event We Are Yesterday arrived. And we finally got the first of four issues depicting the updated DC history! I’m very excited to get to that. I loved the Marvel miniseries from a few years ago.
The first variant, I got because of the Samurai theme. The other one is dubbed the Farewell Variant Edition, so I thought I might as well get the variant for the final issue.
These are both fantastic covers. The first one depicting THAT moment from the X-Men 97 animated series. And the next is Aka having done a great job on Jubilee. I really like this slightly new character design that she’s been in for a while.
The next two Fantastic Four variants for this last issue of this run. Another Galloway and another Disney variant.
This is the main cover and the Art of Marvel Studios variant. both look great!
Taurin Clarke does such a good job with everything!
I certainly wish more of these variants had Kamala on them, but I’m not complaining about these covers because they are amazing. The main cover I assume is an homage cover. The second has Blink looking amazing via Talavera’s art. And the third one is Artgerm doing Rachel proud!
The next set of Sweet Paprika: Open For Business covers! That fifth one is the polybagged one.
Forbes did such a great job with this cover, I didn’t even see the second person there when I first looked at it. Acuña created a masterful work of art with Carol and Hal. And I love this David Aja cover of Oliver!
This issue had a lot of fantastic covers! The first one I like for Kara being there in that jacket (that the super family doesn’t wear enough in the comics, mainly on the covers). The second is an incentive cover that I had to get for Doomsday. The next one by Marc Aspinall reminded me immediately of Norman Rockwell’s art, and I do love that art. And I just liked the Pride variant! They look great in the suits next to each other.
Spectre. And the second cover is just a great color design and concept for a Mr. Terrific cover.
This is the next Ejikure cover and the Pride cover is in a fun Polaroid style. Though I got it for Dreamer being there.
The many (and expensive) variants for The New History of the DC Universe! The first is part of a Dan Mora set featuring a single hero on each cover. The second and sixth are by Ryan Sook. He’s also doing a set. The next is a blank variant and the next Artgerm of course. The fifth one is Koblish, which is another set of wraparound connecting covers, and I hope they connect this time.
The Sook set seems to be all foil covers, so I thought that showing the non-foil one would be fine. I have an idea for the commission for these blank covers. Artgerm’s cover looks fantastic!
Most of these issues are from the last month or so. The first one though, is from last year! It’s from one of the cover collections I needed the last issue for. So that’ll show up in the next Completed Collections post. The Phoenix issue is for the character design. Cable is for the double Cable of it all. Werewolf by night is for Gist. That Harley cover is just fun. The Heat Seeker variants are finally here! And as usual, the polybagged one is an NSFW cover. And that Aphra issue is the first of the new run and I just forgot to get two.
