Predator: Badlands (November 5, 2025. Early screening) November 6, 2025

Well, that was a fantastic movie!

The duo of characters we had was a great team. And the side characters and creatures added so much to the world. The story was as advertised and flowed pretty well. The movie actually went by faster than I thought it would.

Elle Fanning is so good! I can’t remember the last project I saw her in but it was a while ago. She brought a good amount of humor and heart to the darkness and action of the movie.

Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi did a fantastic job as the main Predator. I mean, I don’t know what filming was like, if he said his lines in English or if he literally had to learn the Yautja language that was made for the movie, but either way, it was great to watch.

The visuals were amazing of course. I may have to see this again in IMAX 3D. The opening shot was totally a good shot for 3D.

I was wondering if we’d see some particular creatures, and we didn’t, but that’s fine. But I wonder what’s next for this franchise beyond the upcoming AVP movie and whatever is branching out of the Killer of Killers ending.

Completed Variant Sets 25 — October 28, 2025

So, since Rebirth Nightwing started doing really creative covers I’ve been loving them. There are 10 covers before Jorge Fornés started doing these kinds of covers too. These have so many different unexpected designs! And I didn’t realize that last week’s issue was the last cover by him specifically. Look at these! I may do a collection post for the 10 covers before these just because. We’ll see. I think I like the second and fourth covers her the best out of these.

I hope he returns to this title at some point! But I also love that I’ve seen him on a couple other titles recently.

Finally! I’m happy to have all the covers in this Nathan Szerdy set! I normally get specific themed covers from his online store directly, but sometimes I see covers I just want asap. These pairs of awesome female heroines are just great!

I love how these all look side-by-side! These would have been a cool connecting variant set! I may actually end up displaying these framed like this at some point.

The next set should have been the main cover of this title, but since I didn’t get other copies of it, that’ll have to wait till the next CVS post.

These are the fantastic Dan Mora variants that also show the legacy of each character on the cover. Now, I do wonder why the picks for the characters on here were made. It feels weird to not have Superman on one of these beyond the background images. But I still love these so much!

I think I like the Diana or Wally covers best. I certainly wish there were more of these!

Okay, so, I always get apprehensive about connecting covers as y’all know. This set wasn’t too bad, mostly overlap and one or two gaps. I think that for some of these wraparound connecting cover sets, they should really be wraparound multi gatefold covers. But also, I just want them to perfect how they print connecting covers, it really is disappointing to see these amazing designs being given a disservice.

Anyway, I love these Scott Koblish and HiFi covers! Seeing all this history on these is fantastic. And seeing some of the characters evolve as the design goes on is great!

Though, in the last cover, I can’t seem to see Dreamer nor Red Canary, but there are a lot of characters and one character does kind of look like Dreamer, but not sure.

The wraparounds

The whole thing! Yes it’s wobbly because I took it via a panoramic.

Till next time!

Happy (almost) Halloween!

Is Hal and Carol’s romance having a moment? DC KO continuing to bring the energy. The final New History of the DC Universe dropped. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers got a Halloween one-shot special, and so did Hello Darkness. We got a new Marvel Zombies miniseries. It’s always fun for FF to get to its fourth issue during each new run. The Ultimate Spider-Man mini event ended followed by two aftermath issues in Miles’ title and Ultimates. We got some more Age of Revelation titles including Omega Kids, Radioactive Spider-Man, The Last Wolverine and X-Men Book of Revelation. And the next issue of Jedi Knights dropped featuring the breakout Jedi Master Kelleran Beq portrayed by the amazing Ahmed Best.

Posters below!

ORANGE! It’s my favorite color. As expected, orange covers during October! Love these both! Nakayama, Cho and Rich all did great work!

The next Aja variant! And two variants with Darksied on them.

The final variant for this Szerdy set! And a Kevin Wada variant with The World Forger on it.

The final covers for the New History of the DCU! Though, I need more copies of the main cover.

Love this Frison cover! And there’s the last blank variant. I think I want to get a commission for these four blank variants for a wraparound connecting design. I don’t know who I’d get it from, but it would be amazing.

Another Frison cover! There is a B&W variant but it’s an incentive. And this Koblish variant for Marvel Zombies is fantastic!

The next Jeff covers!

So many great covers here! The main one by Ramos and Delgado is simple and nice. The what if Disney homage cover is fun. I love the Silver Surfer cover by Massafera! And of course, there’s the amazing Marvel Studios concept art cover of Galactus!

Another gorgeous Fan Yang cover for Miles’ issue!

Finishing this off by a wonderful set of covers staring the glorious Kelleran Beq!! I’m so happy to see more from this character! And we’re still waiting for him to return to the screen!

Just fantastic!! Bravo to Ahmed Best!!

This was a surprise variant I got! It’s nice!

Posters!! These are of course for issues coming out next week or after.

DC KO continues in some of the DC books. Dick Grayson (Robin) and Kara have to be around each other at some point after their first horrible date (from 32 issues ago). JL Red sees to be having some creature problems. We got the final issue of Return to Skull Island. We got to issue 30 of this Hulk run. The penultimate issue of One World Under Doom’s main title dropped. And we got a bunch of Age of Revelation issues including Unbreakable X-Men, Iron & Frost, Rogue Storm and Sinister’s Six. The Fantastic Four and Gargoyles had the first of two crossover issues drop! And a new DSTLRY title started.

A Lord of the Flies-esque cover for this new title.

A fun Halloween themed variant cover for SWI.

The next bunch of Catwoman variants. Sometimes I get Chew covers and sometimes I don’t, I liked this dynamic red cover. And look at that Scott Forbes cover! The shading looks amazing.

Darksied wall art cover!

The final Fornés cover for this Nightwing run! And look at that amazing Dustin Nguyen cover!

I mean, look at this!!

These are such fun variants! I feel like the first one, by Adrián Gutiérrez and Matt Herms, could be an homage to some movie poster or book cover, but I’m not sure. And the second one just looks really good, thanks to Lucas Meyer.

Red Canary covers! Love these! Thank you Juan Ferreyra and Cully Hamner respectively.

Rita looks fantastic in this Taurin Clarke cover! And there’s the next ranger team cover.

Shredder! Michele Bandini and Marco Lesko did a great job on this fiery cover. And Kael Ngu gave us this sharp cover.

The next Frison cover for Hello Darkness. A dynamic Jedi Knights cover with Caleb and his master Depa Billaba. Doom just looks cool on this cover. I love how Terry Dodson draws Rogue. And I had actually forgotten who did this Iron and Frost cover but then I was like oh, that makes sense. It’s a great Putri cover. And I love this Talavera cover!

More Godzilla covers! Spacegodzilla action figure cover! And the next mashup cover. And then a really fun variant.

Bravo to ACO (Alex Cal Oliveira)! The colors look fantastic!

The first of two crossover issues for the Fantastic Four and Gargoyles! Such great variants!

Happy for a blank variant. I really like this foil cover! Also a fun Young cover! And this Dell’Otto cover is fantastic!

Regretting You (and A Night of No Regrets fan event Q&A) – October 23, 2025

This was such a lovely movie. I enjoyed it a lot. It was sweet and emotional and heartbreaking and fun. Also, I have not read the book.

Before the movie started, we got a poster, a set of stickers and a necklace as promotional items. And then we saw footage from a live (I think it was recorded earlier in the day from a California screening) Q&A screening with the director and three of the four leads. McKenna Grace wasn’t there but she sent in a video. It was a nice conversation and the cast seemed to really get along. And they all had wonderful things to say about McKenna.

I of course have known of Dave Franco for years, and he did a great job as expected. In the Q&A recording, he mentioned that it was nice to play a good character and not a jerk as some of his other roles have been, haha.

Allison Williams did an amazing job at such a difficult character. Everything her character went through really was felt through her acting.

Mason Thames is certainly having a great year! As in his role as Hiccup earlier this year, I really enjoyed his work here. He portrayed this character in a real and vulnerable way. He was in a third thing recently and I didn’t know what it was, I’ll have to look into it.

McKenna Grace is such a fantastic actress. I’ve seen her in her roles as a kid in shows for years and I’m so glad that she was cast in this role. She did a brilliant job. She went through such a range of emotions during the movie and I felt them all. The joy, pain and everything else was masterfully acted. I can’t wait to see her in more things.

The rest of the cast was also great. The comedic characters were fun and I also want to see more from them. There were even a couple big names that showed up who I didn’t know were in this, so it was nice to see them show up.

Some plot was a bit easy to figure out, but it still hit hard when they happened. Dave Franco said that there will be times when you’ll want to be frustrated with the characters decisions and feel free to yell at the screen, haha. There were certainly moments where I felt like that. But I loved the journey that every character went through.

This movie is certainly good to watch during various times in people’s lives. You see the point of view from everyone and it’s relatable, even if you’ve not gone through the things that happen here, you can empathize and see where everyone is coming from. That remains the same for the mistakes that characters made. I would indeed recommend Regretting You.

Mid-credit scene: Nope

End-credit scene/more from the Q&A: Nope

October 8, 2025

We got the next Marvel Knights issue. The next Spider-Man 94′ issue dropped. Amazing Spider-Man Torn debuted, as did Marvel Black, White & Blood AND GUTS. We returned to Planet Hulk in a special to celebrate that story’s 20th Anniversary. Strange Tales started a new run! We got another Imperial special. More Age of Revelation issues dropped. The final issue of Captain Planet arrived. A new arc started in Transformers. We were introduced to Absolute Catwoman! CORT continued. And the next big DC even started with DC K.O. 1.

Wanda looking awesome from Vecchio and on the Tron variant.

Miss Piggy and Kermit paying homage to Spidey! And another Wanda. Love this Nakayama variant of Binary!

I got both of these variants because the Sabretooth costume looks great.

Apocalypse variant!

I’m happy that David Nakayama is doing the main covers for this new Transformers arc. And the other variant is a die-cut mask variant.

It looks great!

I got the first variant because of the legacy theme. And the other is just a great creative cover variant.

It’s fantastic that these variants are all of some of my top favorite artists, Artgerm, Frison, and Nakayama!

I’m always happy to see Jessica Cruz on a cover.

The next Supergirl covers!

This is such a great Mattia De Iulis variant!

Here are the DC K.O. Covers I got!

The first is the main acetate cover. The next is just a fantastic Darksied cover by Jim Lee and Alex Sinclair.

The next is a wraparound foil variant. It looks great! And it better look great because it was TWENTY FOUR DOLLARS. Insane.

The next is a Spears Darksied trading card variant and then I got one of the blindbag variants. The one I got is a Ben Oliver foil variant. And then a Cho and Rich cover.

And the last one I got is a roster wraparound cover by Dan Mora.

I got a poster promoting DC K.O.! It’s not exactly accurate, and it’s also not really in focus, but it’s nice to have.

October 1, 2025

Happy October!

We got this year’s DC Halloween special with Zatannic Panic. We got a new run of Gotham Academy. We got one-shot called Absolute Evil. And another one-shot that is a prelude to DC K.O. in The Omega Act. We got an Adventure Time one-shot set in an alternate universe with Bubblegum and Marceline in college. We got a new Godzilla title called Starship Godzilla. It seems like it focuses on Mechagodzilla. There was a reprint of the 90’s amalgam comic Spiderboy, which is a mashup of Spider-Man and Superboy. We got the next collected edition of the From the Ashes digital issues with X-Men the Undertow. We FINALLY got the Spirits of Violence run that was supposed to start a year or two ago. We got a White Tiger special! Venom got to its 250th issue! We got the next issue in the Age of Revelation. And finally, the next issue of Life.

The next DSTLRY comic from the Life title.

A very cool variant!

Bravo to Vincenzo Riccardi!

Love this Bermejo main cover! And the art on this variant is fantastic too, thanks to Sean Tay! The playing cards look great!

The main cover by Jorge Jiménez is so good! The lighting on them both looks great! The first variant is in reference to the main cover of issue 1. The next is a fun Aja cover. And then Jiménez is also doing these Bat-Gadget covers too.

Always happy to see Inque on these covers. And this is a fun Christian Ward variant!

I love this Szerdy cover of an Autumn-themed Pamela. And here’s another great Gonzales cover. I love this fun Dustin Nguyen variant of Gotham Academy 1.

A great Eom cover! And I couldn’t say no to a variant with Doomaday on it!

This is a variant, but I got it to read because I liked the art style of this cover better than the main cover.

It’s intriguing that the blank is green and not silver since this issues stars Mechagodzilla. And I love this Star Wars poster homage variant!

Now, I feel like this Mack variant could be an homage to something, but I’m not sure. I’m not really a Tron fan, but I liked a couple of these Tron variants. This one is by Hicham Habchi. And I love this Ahsoka and Anakin variant.

The main cover is an Inhyuk Lee cover. It looks fantastic! And this Kushala variant by Momoko is lovely.

So many White Tigers! Such a great legacy variant. And a Psylocke Artgerm variant!

The non-blank covers are here because of Knull.
