Secret Empire was going, Thor was having Phoenix drama, and Flash got a lenticular cover! Oh, and I think by this time I was leaving variant covers and non-event issues in my box to get at a later time.

Not too much that week, but America traveled to a classic X-Men time and Bruno and Kamala were having troubles. Secret Warriors debuted again and it was a great run. Some fun panels from this run are on my IG haha. And Titans dove into the Lazarus Contract event. That was an intense event.

Free Comic Book Day 2017! Every year special preview issues of comics are printed for FCBD. All publishers take part so, you’ll see a taste of things to come during that year across all comics (including manga). These were what I got. This may have been my first FCBD, I can’t quite remember.

Kate Bishop and Jessica Jones were having a detective team-up, Black Bolt #1 had just come out (it is a FANTASTIC run, you should read it), young Jean was figuring out Phoenix stuff, and DC had bad things happening all over the place XD

The photo is horrible quality because on that day, my phone wouldn’t turn on, so I used my laptop to take the photo XD. Doom popped into Moon Girl’s issue, a lot going on in Thanos and Ultimates^2 and Hulk. Oh, and this was also soon after Star Wars Celebration that year celebrating 40 years of Star Wars, it was a big even online. I remember the panels and it was great. I really wish I could have actually attended though.

I couldn’t get the lighting correct for this photo so I just posted two. This was the week Venom got a new run, Nick Fry got a very colorful retro comic, and the beginnings of Secret Empire appeared. Hydra was having a grand old time. XD

There’s X-Men Blue (which focused on he original X-Men team who had been brought back in time and this title would eventually see them returned to their time), Weapon X participants were bring hunted down, Superman Reborn was ramping up and Flash was dealing with Black Hole.

I didn’t get comics on the 29th because I was getting ready for a Doctor Who convention that weekend ^__^ It was amazing by the way lol. Wow, so much was happening during this time. Miles Morales’ mother just found out about him being Spider-Man, the Inhumans were going through a lot, and beginning to figure out their true origin, a new era of X-Men was starting with X-Men Blue and X-Men Gold (and eventually X-Men Red), Steve Rogers new history was being revealed, what came back with Richard Rider’s Nova from the Cancerverse was being affecting things in our universe, and more. It was all glorious!

Apparently, I decided to just pick up these two? I initially said that I was only picking up this Spider-Gwen issue because it was the last part of this Miles crossover, though that doesn’t explain why I also got AC 976 only. It’s possible that there just wasn’t anything else I was subscribed to that was in that week. This probably never happened again XD
