Spidey and Jonah’s interview was cut short, During Incoming (I’m relatively sure) Tony was sent back to 1,000,000 BC (it may have just been someone finding something of his in that time or himself finding the item, I can’t really remember, though it was all Mephisto’s doing), Ghost Rider introduced a new Rider of sorts, Star and Wanda had words, Falcon & Winter Soldier got a run, Giant-sized X-Men had a new run Dial H for Heroes had its final issue, JLD needed help and Animal Man arrived, I got this issue of Batman Beyond since it introduced a new Batwoman, two villains battle in Metropolis as Clark tried to stop them, we got two issues of Hell Arisen, Leviathan got another special, and we got two reprints of classic Flash issues.

February 19, 2020

Gert had a choice to make, Deadpool had to deal with Kraven coming for the monsters he ruled, there was a big reveal in Captain America, Carol was still under Vox’s control (if you forgot who Vox was, it was the being that massacred the Inhumans), Reed was not having a good time on that alien world, Jane and Thor team-up, Nebula got a title, Wolverine got a new run, the first issue of Marvel Voices was released (such an amazing series. It was first, and still is, a podcast that then they decided to make into a comic series also), Eradicator visited the Justice League, the Teen Titans had to contend with the first genie, we got the origin of how the Legion of Superheroes formed, DCeased got a spin-off that took place during the main story, the Wonder Twins had their finale issue for this run, and Wally had the final issue of his Flashforward adventure through the multiverse.

February 12, 2020

Peter and Jonah have quite the interview live, Xemu had taken over the world in Hulk, Thor and Beta Ray Bill battled, we got a Ghost Rider: Mother of Demon’s special, The Hood was messing with Hawkeye, the original Gwen Stacy got a title (even if it didn’t last long. It was set in the past of course), Hawkman and Kara still had Infected issues, Superman had some Mongol troubles (just you wait till present day stories, these current Mongol stories are BRUTAL), Flash got a new villain named Paradox, Diana met the Dark Fates, the Terrifics had a 25th Anniversary issue that had a “choose your own adventure” theme to it, Harley and Ivy’s miniseries ended, Hal started a new run, Superman Heroes was a special that had various hero or generally good characters reactions to Superman’s big reveal (the villain’s issue was the following week), Harley and the Birds of Prey got a Black Label miniseries (inspired by the movie, but not related to it), and we got a Batman: Pennyworth R.I.P. special.

Birds of Prey, and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (2020)

February 6, 2020 – Birds. Of. Prey. ATFEOOHQ. Well, I definitely enjoyed it! It was fun as hell XD. A couple things I hoped would at least be there did happen, so, good good. There was a lot going on but it all eventually came together. I enjoyed the characterization of all the characters. There was one thing about Cassandra Cain that I hoped they’d do, but eh. There was one small allusion to it.

There was one reference to Suicide Squad, it’s short but obvious. I’m not sure how many people in the theater caught it, but I definitely noticed. There was also slight mention of all of her past (SS included) real quick.

I also enjoyed the music! Well placed. There were a lot of different than usual renditions of well known songs that it took me an extra second to recognize.

It was a fun movie. I enjoyed it more than SS definitely. Oh and the intro was enjoyable XD.

I feel like if there were a sequel to this, the characters would be able to be more themselves and I’d be happy to watch it. And it wouldn’t necessarily need Harley in it. Considering the end. But we’ll see what’s up with Harley in The Suicide Squad anyway (I can only assume it takes place after this).

There are no mid-credit nor end-credit scenes. There is an end-credit audio clip, but you really don’t need to be there for it. It’s just poking fun. Think the end of Ferris Buller but not like what Deadpool did with it.

Also this was the last movie I saw in theaters before the pandemic started.

February 5, 2020

From he end of January to May I didn’t post photos, so many of the next week’s posts were posted in one large post.

Harley had a wrestling arc (yup, though some tragic things did happen), I can’t quite remember what was going on with Conner in Young Justice beyond the Warlord connection), JLO witnessed the return of Darkseid to full power, cats and wolverines don’t mix, another Spiderverse issue, Spider-Hulk, Miles had to be careful of what happened to his journal, Ant-Man (and Stature) got their own title, the FF and X-Men had a mini-event about where Franklin should go (personally, it was a bit of a ridiculous event, the whole thing could have been solved if everyone just had a conversation and people were honest), Captain America got a “The End” story and a new run of Darth Vader began (alongside the rest of he Star Wars titles).

Posters! Movie next.

January 29, 2020

Jessica Cruz had to try to save the day in JLO, Miguel had some alter egos that were taking over, Diana had something lurking in her since her encounter with Hecate, the speedsters were losing control of their speed, Detective Comics had a special issue dedicated to Alfred, Lex and Leviathan worked together against Clark, the Doom War had ended, the finale of the Black Stars saga arrived, Hulk had a big Xemu problem, there was more Spiderverse to come, oh, and that new Hawkeye run dealt with the mystery of who was using the Ronin costume, Thor became a herald of Galactus, Avengers of the Wasteland started (set in the Old Man Logan universe), and Deadpool, Captain Marvel and Doctor Strange all got heir on “The End” stories. FYI, one of these were the one that eventually connected to the main timeline. You’ll see.

January 22, 2020

Billy ad his father had some heroing to do, this was the first Superman issue after the big reveal I think, Bruce and Clark still had to deal with Batman Who Laughs ever after The Infected were cured, Luthor took on the Infected (remember comics come out out of order a lot), Dark Captain Marvel had to fight She-Hulk, Guardians started a new run, we got another Web of Venom issue, Atlantis Attacks mini-event started (it wouldn’t finish till during the King in Black event and I don’t mean it kept going, I mean it started, paused for an entire other event, and returned and ended during KIB.), and Wonder Woman got to her 750th issue.

And yes, there is that GIANT comic book volume of Fantastic Four. I’d been eyeing it for months or years and I finally got it!

January 15, 2020

Nightwing had been freed from control, JLO were still having all the trouble, Flash was a bit harsh on Captain Cold, Damian visited the Legion with Jon, Wally sat in Mobius’ chair, the Starbrand storyline continued, got an issue of Doctor Who Magazine, Valkyrie and co. had to save Death from Death’s Death, and Iron Man 2020 had begun when Arno Stark took up the mantle of Iron Man from Tony.

Got that classic The Amazing Spider-Man poster.

January 8, 2020

DC got a New Year’s special, Black Lightning and Batman had some differences of opinion, Young Justice goes after Star Labs, Batwoman paid Harley and Ivy a visit, Diana tried to reason with infected Kara, Sky Tyrant (Hawkman) was still infected, Peter had reptilian problems, Deadpool is still king of the monsters with Elsa Bloodstone there to supervise, Ravencroft got a new title, Star got her own title, Rogue came out of her chrysalis, Eddie was having quite the time on that island, Kamala was raring to go, and Miles got the first of a few issues under “The End” title which gave us “final” stories for various characters if someone were to write them a final story (surprisingly, a couple of those stories tied into the main continuity later on). Oh and I bought a Goku funko pop based on his look from the final episode of Dragon Ball Z in the flashforward at the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament.

January 1, 2020

Red Hood’s old and new Outlaws had some issues with each other, Batgirl was still dealing with the rogue Oracle, JLD had Eclipso problems, Miles still had Ultimate Goblin around, Hawkeye got a new run, Thor started a new run as King of Asgard, Star Wars started its post-TheEmpireStrikesBack run, that classic issue of Eternals that I got that poster for got a reprint, Eternals got a one-shot and I got Neil Gaiman’s volume of Eternals.

I also picked up all the variants, from months previous, up.

Got a couple Artgerm covers, love those Darkseid covers, also the X-men covers that showed different iterations of certain characters, and the Fearless variants were great. Oh, also, there was a 40th Anniversary issue of Doctor Who Magazine.
