Mayor Nakano hired Vile, Vile was literally vile, Diana wandered the graveyard of the gods, Wally’s journey came to an end back in the present, the House of El (from Future State) got a annual on AC, wow, I forgot how much was going on in Infinite Frontier, Jessica Drew took on Lady Bullseye, political drama galore in Excalibur, Thor started a new arc (with a new artist) after all the Donald Blake chaos, Tony was stuck on a world with Ultimo on it with random others and Stilt-Man, Roxxon attempted to trap a crowd of Kamala’s Law protesters, WOTBH continued, Scream headlined the second part of Extreme Carnage (each life-foundation symbiote had an issue as Carnage attempted to control them for his plan), and Sinister War had begun (Peter had just such a rough year).

Black Widow (2021)

July 8, 2021 – Well hey there!

Time for my first movie reaction in a while XD. (it had been 3 months)

So, Black Widow. I very much enjoyed it XD as other have said, it defo has a spy/action movie feel. That makes sense considering Natasha’s character.

The other characters introduced were pretty cool. There weren’t many other characters besides the ones advertised, but I enjoyed them and their place in the story. I did enjoy Yelena Bolova quite a bit XD.

There were a few good moment that were callbacks to various things Natasha had done in other movies which I liked. Both physical and references.

The story was pretty much as expected. There’s a mission and they gotta go complete it. I enjoyed seeing the character development of Natasha. Her feelings towards what had happened thus far in her life were fleshed out.

The action scene were great as expected XD, the comedy was enjoyable too. And the emotional moment hit well.

Overall this was great. I still wish they’d released this around the time Spider-man Homecoming came out, but it is what it is. Connections to where we see her next we’re made.

Mid-credit scene: No

End-credit scene: Yes (didn’t surprise me that much, but it basically confirms what I expected was going on. And I’m so ready. I wonder who else? Hehe)

Runaways was at issue 99 before the final issue of this run and things were looking dark, America was also on its penultimate issue where she was about to learn more about her past, we got Ta-Nehisi Coates last issue of this Capt run, Hulk needed advice so he went to Betty, we got introduced to a new assassin character in WOTBH, COTA were captured but one of them had a secret that could save them, (odd online the publishing date for X-Force 21 is August 2021), the vote having ended, we got a new run of X-Men with the new team (also we had the next vote already for this year’s Gala, we’ll see in June what the new team is for 2022), for Peter, the Sinister War was brewing, Peter also got an issue of Infinite Destinies with Star guesting, the Avengers headed into an arc dubbed World War She-Hulk (not as grand as the original WWH, but a lot happened to Jen), after his defeat in Absolute Carnage, plans were being set for Extreme Carnage (an 8-part event), Signal got a BSF issue, Batman and Peacekeeper-01 continued to battle it out, the United Planets formed a grip of heroes called The United, and they came to earth, on Oa, things were very bad, only a handful of lanterns were left, Crush and Lobo’s adventure continued, Yara had to eyes of Olympus on her, Batman TAC continued and the Justice League TAS also got a comic continuation called Justice League Infinity.

June 30, 2021

Capt wa unsure of Shang-Chi’s intentions (as were other heroes), the Eternals still were dealing with Thanos before it was too late (spoilers, too late happened), there was a lot going on in Daredevil, Black Cat got an Infinite Destinies issue (though this was the last issue but the some of the previous issues hadn’t even come out yet, so I had to wait a couple months before getting to this), we got the Chameleon Conspiracy ending which would change things, Durge the bounty hunter (from the original Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series that preceded the CGI Star Wars: The Clone Wars series) made his comic debut in this Doctor Aphra issue, we got an origin issue for Father Valley (the bounty hunter hired to kill Selina), Infinite Frontier got a special that was styled as Mr. Bones’ secret files on the character in the story (he was going through a bit of multiversal paranoia at the time), Green Arrow got its 80th Anniversary issue, and we got the next SWI issue.

June 23, 2021

Grundy visited Harley, Damian and Conner Hawke got acquainted, the Bat-pack learned the new Red X’s identity, There was tension between Atlantis and the other countries with Warworld looming, Clark and Jon were dealing with shadow creatures, Diana got back to Olympus only to find it in ruins and the gods slain, Checkmate got a new run spinning out of the Leviathan event (all the world’s greatest detectives worked together in secret), the Infinite Frontier miniseries started (this series would lead to the next big event for DC which is starting very soon. Darkseid was making his move after being hidden from everyone since the end of DKDM when he killed The Quintessence. A group of powerful beings in the DC universe, including Hera, Highfather, Ganthet, Phantom Stranger, Spectre, and The Wizard.), The new Guardians configuration continued to move forward, Carol and Stephen’s fling continued, Vader and IG-88 had conflict, Deadpool tried to crash the Gala, a new run of Gamma Flight spun out of Immortal Hulk, and Marvel Voices released their Pride special.

June 16, 2021

Nightwing still had a Heartless problem, Selina had a very successful bounty hunter after her, Supergirl got a run spinning out of her Future State story (though this was set hundreds of years before that FS story. This ended recently and it was such a unique story, I enjoyed it a lot), Wally was still blasting through time and unfortunately for him, he wound up back at the site of the Sanctuary disaster, Static got a new run out of Milestone’s comeback, Loki was having a time in the Mighty Valkyries, Doom’s wedding was upon us and everyone was invited (which meant A LOT of drama. Never mind what was to come.), the next issue of Peach Momoko’s X-story dropped, WOTBH continued, the origin behind the clones were revealed to Miles, the Hellfire Gala continued (as printing was still out of order, Planet-size X-Men really came out a bit earlier than it should have. Also, this issue had a really important event occur that changed everything), X-corp debuted the week before and I didn’t realize that a mutant character I liked and hadn’t seen in a while was in it, so I didn’t get issue 1 right away (this was the corporate side of Krakoa that dealt with all the financials and business aspects of what the mutants had created), Infinite Destinies continued and Venom’s 200th issue dropped.

June 9, 2021

WOTBH continued, the COTA heard about the Hellfire Gala and wondered if they could attend, we got the origin of Korvac, the new X-Men team was voted in (by all the mutants in-story, and by the fans in real life), the next issue of MTG happened with a Rakdos threat rising, a lot was happening in Gotham, Diana discovered what happened to the Valkyries, and DC dropped its Pride special (the designs for this year’s have been shared and they look great!).
