Posting these a day later than I usually would have because I just forgot to do this after taking the photos yesterday, haha.

Batgirl has been hosting a villain (an iteration of one) that was created in Batman Beyond, it’s a bit weird though since I’m just used to that being solely from that era, I don’t think they needed to create Spellbinder in the past, but eh. Son of Kal-El got an gorgeous AAPI cover. We finally got the next issue of the JL vs LSH mini-event. Halcyon Legacy gave us a cool Asajj Ventress variant. X-Men and the new Sam Wilson Capt run gave us the start of these postcard variants which I enjoy. And Shang-Chi got an AAPI variant too. We got the next issue of the Miles What If story. And to celebrate both Thor and Hulk’s 60th Anniversary, we got a crossover between their comics, of which I also got the wraparound variant. And I got three posters. I’m showing only two of them because one is going o be a gift and I don’t want to spoil it for my friend. I’ll post it here after I give it to them.

It’s always fun when we get two titles crossing over, and both Thor and Hulk have been having a very difficult time recently, so this should be interesting to read.

Love the colors on this cover. The shading is great.

I feel like these postcard variants should be displayed somehow, I’m not sure what I’ll do eventually, maybe in a folio. Hmm, we’ll see. Can’t wait to get the rest of them.

May 4, 2022

Last week’s issues. Getting the Legends of Tomorrow issue of Earth-Prime is bittersweet with the cancellation of the show. The next part of the Shadow War event dropped. Flashpoint Beyond started. And the aftermath of the Trial of the Amazons started with the official coronation of Nubia. I got that Marauders issue because of the Eric, The Red cover. Thunderbird got a Giant-size special. The Crimson Reign arc of Star Wars ended. We finally got the Obi-Wan Kenobi comic (for Star Wars Day)! Though it’s funny, that second cover (the Gist variant) is art that I’ve seen before, in 2018 I saved a promo image of that cover that I guess they never used for what it was supposed to be for, though I have a feeling this series was supposed to come out back then and they decided to wait till it coincided with the Disney+ series coming out. The Peach Momoko variant is also lovely, and I have the David Nakayama variant pre-ordered.

Doctor Strange (2) in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)

May 5, 2022 – This is the first time I’m writing one of these movie posts on here after having finished being caught up on filling out this blog with content from as far back as 2016 (it took four weeks to catch up to present day XD)!! Woot!! I wanted to have done that before seeing The Batman, but that didn’t work out. This is also the first time I’m sharing this blog on my Facebook (normally I would have posted my thoughts on movies via a post on there).

If this is you’re first time seeing this blog, welcome! And have a look around after you read this! So far it’s comics and movie reviews/reactions. Anyway, enjoy:

So. This. Movie. First of all, Props to Sam Raimi (first Spider-Man trilogy director) for directing and Danny Elfman (the master musical craftsman behind Batman (1989) which inspired the music and tone for the 90’s animated series, Batman Returns, the first Spider-Man, and many other spectacular scores) for the score. That duo was perfect! XD

There were specific threads that I had hoped would be stitched throughout this movie, and weren’t, but there was so much else going on, that I was perfectly ok with that.

Even though I was a little worried about 2 hours 2 mins not being enough, it certainly felt right. The pace was fine for me. Plus in the story that was being told, things were happening fast, so it made sense.

I can’t believe it’s been 6 years since the first Doctor Strange movie. So much has changed for Stephen since then. Even though this movie had a lot to do, it also served as a decent sequel.

The returning characters were a joy to see again, of course. And the new ones were also wonderful to meet for the first time. And the cameos were brilliant! Hehe. There certainly are some that haven’t been spoiled by the internet.

America Chavez was a character I was worried about a little bit because of how much I enjoy her character in the comics. Of course the MCU has to do it’s own version of all these characters and changes must be made at times. In general, her origins seem to be what they were (initially) in the comics. Though her characterization here was very different, I hope that whenever we see her again she’ll be more similar to her comic counterpart. Time will tell. But she was a fun character indeed.

The multiverse! All I’ll say is the moment this goes to Disney+, I’m going to watch it again and pause on so many frames to see if I can recognize any of the other worlds. There were a lot! XD

The plot itself wasn’t too complicated, but the path from A to B was well, a ball of wibbly wobbly stuff (to paraphrase a certain Timelord :-P). I enjoyed the story and I’m excited for everything that may come next!

And just in case you haven’t yet, if you’ve not watched WandaVision on Disney+, you are required to watch it entirely before watching this movie. Yes, you read what I said. Just do it. It doesn’t matter if you know what happened in the show already, just watch it first. XD

This was a fun movie with a creepy, scary tone thanks to the aforementioned director and composer. I’m excited to see this again soon!! XD

Mid-credit scene: SO MUCH YES. I’m so glad this wasn’t spoiled. XD though many of you probably will be confused. XD ask me once you’ve seen it XD.

End-credit scene: Yes XD it’s one of those funny, non-essential ones, but I enjoyed it still XD. So, if you have the time to stay, stay. If not, no worries.

April 27, 2022

Oh look, the issues from day before yesterday! XD We got two more parts of the Shadow War event, the last part of the Trial of the Amazons event, and the Death of the Justice League this week for DC. And for Marvel: The Knights of Ren infiltrated Vader’s Castle; Punisher and Carnage continue their new runs; Knights of X started; Thor #750 dropped with the funeral of Odin; this run of Ms. Marvel finished (though there are a couple more stories starring her coming this summer!); and a new run of The Amazing Spider-Man started and I got some variants of the issue.

Also, I probably will pick out a couple of the variants from each week that I love from fave artists or characters etc. to have separate photos for.

The gorgeous Jee-Hyung Lee Silk variant. I mean look at this!! I had to get this.

This is also a beautiful variant. I mean, wow.

April 20, 2022

Woot! This is the first time after being caught up that I can post photos I just took! XD We got the second Earth-Prime issue featuring Superman & Lois characters. The Wonder Girl issue is the penultimate issue of the Trial of the Amazons event. MTG gave Liliana her own title. Hulk I think will introduce us to a new character or Hulk persona. The next issue of the Gwenverse title dropped. And finally, the new era of Captain America has begun (with another title dropping next week, May 4th I think focusing on Sam being Capt again)!!

This is the wraparound over for this issue. I always enjoys covers like this.

This is these two connecting covers for Wonder Girl connected.

This is another fantastic variant by Jenny Frison.

Spring 2022 late issues

These arrived a few weeks or days late (two months late for the DWM issue). This Punisher issue is the start of a new run where he’s apparently joined The Hand. The two variants are a Carnaged Jessica Drew and then a David Nakayama 90’s X-Men TAS variant for the X-Men 92′ House of XCII issue 1. And the Flashpoint: Batman Knight of Vengeance issue is a collected edition for reprints of the origin of the Flashpoint Batman in case people didn’t know prior to the new Flashpoint event that just started. And the DWM came with a double-sided poster! ^__^

Finally caught up to present day!!

I started typing out all of these on March 22nd and today is April 19th. Wow, it took exactly four weeks. Started on a Tuesday and ended on a Tuesday. 371 (this is 372) posts later and I’m caught up with all my comic photos and movie reviews/reactions from 2016 to 2022.

I intend to posts comic photos every other week and movie posts when I get to see a movie I enjoy (and those will be posted minutes after I return to my car in the parking lot after seeing whichever movie it is, or if it’s an online release, from my room.)

Next steps – I will keep thinking about topic posts I want to type up and I will now continue to add to my comic panel Instagram so any of the comics I reference as having posts (in some of my comic photo posts on here) on said IG account, will actually be there.

I’m glad I could actually catch up after all this. Thank you for reading some of my content and I hope you enjoy whatever I have to come.

And if this is the first post you see, sorry, I can’t figure out how to create the function to toggle the organize by date. So, unfortunately, you’ll have to scroll down on each post section once you click the section title in the drop-down menu above. If anyone knows how I can do that, let me know! XD Also, my first post is in the Milestone/Important posts section, so you can just go it from there instead of scrolling down forever.
