Ok. So. What I know about Mario and co has been from playing Super Smash Bros, and seeing various things in games and media for decades. But this was an utter joy to watch!
I got a lot of the references even without knowing all the context to them. This was a super fun movie. Very funny. The story was pretty much as expected and that just made things better.
All the actors played their roles brilliantly. Everyone was amazing! The music was perfect. The sound bites were also perfect. There were references to all kinds of things. I certainly hope we get more from this world.
This is short and sweet because it was just absurdly fun and you should just go watch it! haha.
Mid-credit scene: Yes. A fun one.
End-credit scene: Yes. Not a big thing, but totally worth it if you’re a fan!
I’m wondering what the next arc of Time Drake is going to be. I also wonder if the story in the Blue Beetle miniseries is at all similar to the upcoming movie (the trailer of which is dropping tomorrow, April 3). This is the final issue of this Punchline title. And we have a new Doom Patrol run that is part of the Dawn of DC era that’s starting (which I still can’t read till the end of next month because of the either very delayed Lazarus Plane tie-in’s or they just started the Dawn of DC issues to quickly). Also this issue of Harley is part of the Dawn of DC too, so I can’t get to that yet either. Then we have a Jabba’s Palace special, as it’s the 40th Anniversary of Return of the Jedi this year, we’re getting some one-shot specials. Strange Academy’s next issue is close to the end and I still have to catch up with the previous run. Sabretooth is having problems with himselves. I’m still loving this Thor arc, same with this Daredevil arc. Tony is just having all the problems, as usual. Venom got another Lethal Protector sequel arc to the last revival of the Lethal Protector miniseries. The All-Out Avengers title switched to Avengers Beyond to continue the story. And Jeff, the land-shark got a one-shot special that I can’t wait to get to!
Covers below.

I’m not quite sure what this cover is referring to but I assume it’s something specific and part of a collection, I’ll figure it out. It’s fun though.

Another Darkseid cover.

Both amazing Nathan Szerdy covers.

I just really liked the A cover for this. Fourth-wall breaking covers are always fun.

Two more Momoko covers. And as I’ve said before, the Star Wars one is printed as the WHM collection and this Marvel cover isn’t but it’s still a female character by Momoko during WHM. So, I’m just going to continue to have them together when posting I guess.

The next Hall of Armor connecting cover. This is going to be a very long connecting cover set. I thought these would connect like a grid, but I think they’re just going in a really long line. Taking a photo of them all in line is going to be a challenge! But maybe I’m wrong and they are a grid, in which case I’ll just have to figure out the order.

And of course the next Alex Ross Timeless covers.

Not started any of these yet.
I’m excited for the next Women of Marvel issue, especially because Kamala is in the last story. I got Marauders 12 because it’s the final issue of this run. I’m enjoying the story in Vader as usual. Still can’t get to ASM till the end of next month. Punisher and Carnage’s story arc respectively are coming to a head. I’m always happy to see stories with Nadia Van Dyne. The Monica Rambeau story is fun. Doctor Strange is back and has a new run with this issue. This is the last issue of the Sins of Sinister set 100 years in the future. This is the penultimate issue of DCeased. I’m continuing to love this Nightwing run. I think this is the penultimate issue of the One-Minute War mini-event in Flash. This Wonder Woman issue is part of the Lazarus Planet event that’s technically over already. We got a Spring themed anthology special. Milestone continues celebrating 30 years with a special. And the final issue of Swamp Thing Green Hell finally came out.
Covers below.

Now the Swamp Thing cover I thought was cool and wanted to get and should have come out in February of 2022. But something happened and issue 2 and 3 were delayed till this year. I liked it for the design mainly. The Neighbors variant I got because I liked the cover art and there was something that said there was UV but that may have just meant something else. The X-treme X-Men cover is one of the last Classic Homage covers (though I still have a couple to buy). I really liked the Tiger Division variant, I think I have other covers by the artist but I can’t recall them. That World’s Finest variant is of course because of Darkseid being on the cover. I just liked the color contrast of the Black Adam variant. I really love the look of the Wonder Woman variant. And the DCeased variant is another of that themed collection.

This is the connecting cover and the anatomy cover for this issue.

As I said, I really like Nadia, so a cover with her on it is a must.

The first cover is paying homage to Flash 123 from 1961 that introduced readers to the idea of parallel earths and the multiverse in DC comics. The second cover is paying tribute to Batman Beyond.

The next wonderful Nakayama covers (two A covers and the Flash variant).

The next Jen Bartel She-Hulk cover.

Another amazing cover by Rahzzah and another of the Woman’s History Month collection from Momoko.

Of course the gorgeous Alex Ross cover. The Alex Ross Timeless cover of Dormammu. And the America Chavez cover by Stefano Caselli.

The A cover for WOM and of course, the Kamala cover by Caselli.

I’ve been liking Caselli’s Marvel Icon covers but decided to stick to only my favorite characters that show up.

Just another copy of this MTG cover

So, first thing’s first, I don’t know a lot about D&D, so most references were missed on me. But a couple things I knew about and noticed.
It was quite a fun movie! A lot more comedy than I anticipated, which was great. The story was good, not too complicated, there’s a goal to complete and the party has to get things done to get to the next part of the plan(s).
All the characters were enjoyable! I would have liked a little more backstory or character development on a couple of them, but I had fun with each of them. There was heart in the main characters and in the reasoning of their goal.
I also would have liked a bit more with the antagonist, I mean things were explained, but just a little more from their perspective would have been good. But the effects of their powers were great and they were scary indeed. Maybe they intend to make sequels which will dove more into a greater threat, we’ll see I guess.
I don’t have too much more to say since I don’t have a vast knowledge of D&D, but it was a good adventure movie and I’m glad I saw it!
Mid-credit scene: Yes, a fun call-back.
End-credit scene: Nope.
So, these are a pile of variants that I had picked up from my store when comics started to print again after the Pandemic started. I had some variants in my box that I just hadn’t picked up and when I started getting all the issues that were backed up from 3 months of no comics, I had to pretty much get everything. And since I was catching up on reading alllll those piles, I put this pile of variants aside to take photos of at a later date. So, here we are three years later and I finally got to it! Haha! I literally had no idea what was in this pile since I’d not looked through it for 5 ish years.
I certainly wasn’t going to go through every single issue here since that would be way too many photos, so I just took this main image and then others of the same display.
Though I was very happy to be reminded that I got 21 variant covers of that Fantastic Four 1 from 2018 (that bottom 3 rows). It’s definitely the most variants of one issue that I’ve ever gotten. So, I think I’m going to eventually try to get all the other variants of that issue that I can XD. There are like 50-70 more, so that could take a while. But I had totally forgotten that I had all those.
I’m very happy to have finally gotten to doing this. And on a similar note, I also finally went through a ton of variants from 2017/2018 ish that I’d had in organized piles in a closet for all this time. I sat down for 6 ish hours and sorted them into the various themes and sections that I’ve been organizing variants in for the past 6 months or more. I still have to put them all in the boxes that I’ve been using for the newer ones, and I need more of those boxes, but it very nice to have taken such leaps in organizing them all after this many years. I
t was very nice to see some of the first variants for all the artists whom I’ve been collecting variants of for all this time again after 5 or so years in piles. I also now have a sizable pile of issues I want to get slabbed. I know that will take years to get through since slabbing is pricey.

It’s not often I get six row of space in a post, it took a couple tries to get this more-or-less okay shot. Of that top row, I think the JSA issue is the story I’m most interested in. Though I do enjoy Batgirls. We got fun chaotic miniseries for Harley of her breaking the DC Universe. And here is the next Lazarus Planet limited series that for some reason had to be printed after the event ended two weeks ago. So I have to wait till the end of next month before I can finish LP. I’m loving the Yoda title. In Wolverine I really hope that Logan kicks Hank’s butt by the time this arc comes to an end. The next issue of Bishop’s War College dropped, I’m intrigued by the potential character growth to come from this. The Red Goblin story interests me. Miles has just been getting all the stress and drama, he needs a hug! I think I mentioned my thoughts on the Hulk story-line two weeks ago, but guess I’ll see how this Titan persona is different than the Devil Hulk from the last (amazing) run. Hellcat started her fourth solo run! I haven’t looked into what it’s about yet, so I’ll be happy to be surprised. Sam Wilson is also going though hell right now. SoS continues and the penultimate issue of Avengers Forever is here. And a Star Wars Insider issue.
Covers below. And a bit of a special post coming next.

Love this, I can’t remember if I got the Stephanie Brown cover of this style or if it hasn’t come out yet.

This is just a great issue 1 cover!

All these fantastic Captain Marvel covers are part of collections. Though the Momoko ones is part of the MCU covers collection which I’m not getting many of, so maybe it’ll just be on its own. Though either way I’m going to get it slabbed.

Like I said, two of these are not specifically labeled as WHM covers but they are female characters during this month. I don’t know.

The first covers is one of the last Classic Homage covers in that themed set. I still have a few to go, and I actually thought this one had dropped already. Next month I’ll try to get the rest in.

This is the next cover in that connecting cover set for SoS.

Just like the previous post, here are the connecting cover, the wraparound connecting cover, and the Alex Ross cover for this last Avengers Forever issue for the Avengers Assemble event.

And then these are, of course, all the Alex Ross covers from this week.

I forgot that I wasn’t going to have individual photos for comics that are part of specific set collections till the collection is complete, so that’s why it’s fewer photos this time. Hopefully I can remember from now on!
As usual, I’ve not started these yet. Batman and Ivy are still in their respective arcs. Static is on issue two, and I’m excited for issue three to come. Monkey King ends with this 12th issue. Jon Kent’s new title Adventures of Superman: Jon Kent started. I still think Jon should have taken over the Superman comic title for his own and Clark had Actions Comics for his stories. Flash’s mini event continues. The Bounty Hunters title is giving us the debut of the Inferno Squad from the Battlefront games and novels. I’m excited to get to those issues. MJ and Felicia’s miniseries is still going. I can’t get back to ASM till issue 5 drops at the end of April. And that’s extra annoying since this week’s issue of ASM explains what happened “six months ago” that has MJ mad at Peter. I’m excited for Lorna and Wanda to have some story in Scarlet Witch’s issue. Bloodline still has to do some work for me to get into it really, but I want to know more about what’s going on. Laura has a new miniseries set in her past, though that reminds me that I still need to buy or read her titles from the past. I generally know what happens, but I want to read it. New Mutants has a new miniseries that started. The X-Men/Captain Marvel crossover continues. And the SoS event is still going. And, we got the antepenultimate issue of the Avengers Assemble event with this last Avengers issue.
Many covers below.

This is an Ablaze comic that is paying homage to that Giant-Size X-Men 1 issue that I noticed and was like, hey, know that layout and those colors.

The next Artgerm cover for Batman!

Jenny Frison’s next glorious Ivy cover!

Had to get this Inferno Squad cover. I think I’m going to get this slabbed.

These are more of Peach Momoko’s Women’s History Month covers. Now, I saw that she did other covers that feature women that aren’t labeled under the same theme, so I didn’t include them in this group shot, but I may just bunch them together in the collection anyway since they’re dropping in the same month and it just kind of works.

More from Dauterman! As y’all know, I love these legacy designs.

The next Disney’s 100th Anniversary cover. This is an ASM issue.

I’ve been waiting for this Dakayama issue! Love this so much!!

These are the other Momoko covers I mentioned, well, the Bloodline one is labeled WHM, I think there’s another in the next post that isn’t labeled as such. But yeah, maybe it’s just a coincidence.

The first cover is a connecting cover and the bottom is of course another anatomy cover.

As with the first cover above, this first cover is also a connecting cover. I think they’re both only two covers each for the connecting feature. And the next one is also a connecting cover but as well as a wraparound cover, and the second cover is also in the follow week’s pile. So, I will probably get to making a completed collections post for these soon.

These are the next bunch of Alex Ross covers. Pretty sure I’ll get these all slabbed. I don’t think I’ll get these signed since I have no idea how I would even go about doing that. I may buy the covers that I like the most already signed if anything, but I just want to preserve the art.

Just the Darkwing Duck 1 facsimile issue and another copy of the recent Superman 1.
