SO MANY ISSUES. 5 more and I wouldn’t have been able to fit them all! At some point I think I will have to switch some titles to TPB’s only. Also, Happy Holidays!

We got a Marvel holiday special featuring Alligator Loki. The last issue of Ahsoka dropped. I’m intrigued about what’s happening in Deadpool and Thor. Mole Man returns in Fantastic Four! Hellverine got a title. TVA also got a title! The High Republic got a wedding special! Gargoyles also had a holiday special. Sonic the Hedgehog got to its 75th issue. The next issue of this Sweet Paprika spin-off dropped! Allwinter ended with this issue. I think this is the last Plastic Man issue. The next issue of Absolute Batman arrived. So much is going on in the Action Comics issue! We got a Green Arrow and Green Lantern special that connects to the upcoming event. DC has a lot going on in those following titles! Plus we got new runs for both Challengers of the Unknown and The New Gods!

Just such a great Ahsoka Clarke cover! And I like this Sabine cover! I still need to get the incentive covers.

This is such a gorgeous MJ cover from JeeHyung Lee!

Such great Deadpool covers!

I really do love this character design! I will keep saying it!

This Dauterman cover is him paying homage to the Mighty Thor run. And this is an intense Magneto cover, I’m not sure if this refers to another cover or not.

Two great variants for this issue!

This looks so amazing! I like the lighting on the costume and the katana looks great!

It’s a 75th issues for Sonic, and it’s just cool art.

For this final issue it ends with these two Deathstroke variants.

Okay, look at this Spears cover! Did I not tell you? I love the team shot and the art of course. I’m still not sure if I want to have this in the artist collection of the character covers collection. If I can’t decide, I’ll just have to get another copy for both collections!

Another Frank Cho cover, and the next Nakayama Spotlight cover!

Such a nice Titans cover! And I like this Parrillo The Question cover! And I really enjoy this New Gods cover because of the Source Wall being depicted. It’s not something that’s often shown, never mind on a cover.

December 11, 2024

Problems for the Super-family continue. Something big is starting for the Green Lanterns. Lois apparently has super powers again in a special. The Gotham City Sirens got a cover special. We got an Alien comic that takes place between the first two movies, and 11 years after the Alien Romulus movie. We got a special focusing on pets who wear Deadpool costumes. The Battle of Jakku continued. A year after the new Ultimate Universe debuted we got the first issue of a miniseries about that. There is an 8 Deaths of Spider-Man event that I really didn’t notice was happening, so that’s just whatever is going on there, though Cyttorak is involved. A lot seems to be going on with Wanda and Jean in their respective titles. There is an X-Men event happening too that I don’t know much about, though I know the general plot. Te other X-titles are moving forward. And Laura finally has a new Wolverine run! Infinity Watch has been building up to this issue. There was a Star Wars Insider issue. And finally, three DSTLRY issues, including two new titles.

Such a fun wraparound cover for this new DSTLRY title.

I like that they also gave us a holiday issue.

Interesting that this isn’t a wraparound cover. It is a nice cover.

Yes I did this again with the connecting covers that come out on the same day, haha. They’re a great set! Mark Spears does an amazing job with every cover. And there are a bunch recently. And of course one of the next Nakayama Spotlight covers!

I love this Superwoman cover! The designs, the character of Lois having powers and a little bit of legacy. And of course, this Homare cover is gorgeous!

Great covers for this next Jakku issues!

This is a really exciting cover to exist, because it depicts the character Gallius Rax!! He is the villain in the Star Wars Aftermath (2015-2017) novel trilogy, there have never been any images of him, so it’s great to finally get one.

Between the Phoenix and Scarlet Witch books, their covers are just so good! Love the Death variant!

Love this Dauterman cover! And of course such a fun Momoko cover! And it’s similar to the 2024 SDCC Momoko cover which also featured Wanda and Jeff!

Another bunch of gorgeous Phoenix covers!! Yasmine Putri, Pablo Villalobos and Jessica Fong respectively all did brilliantly on these!

It’s nice to have two Frison covers in the same week! Lorna and Alison look fantastic!

Ah, I totally forgot to take the single photo of the foil cover with the foil being illuminated. Whoops! But it does look great! and of course a nice logo variant.

Just a fun homage variant based on the upcoming animated series and of course the famous Amazing Fantasy #15 (1962) cover.

As usual, love these covers!! They’re all going to look amazing when I get them all together!

Sonic 3 (December 19, 2024)

That was a fun movie! I enjoyed it!

It was great to see a Sonic movie in the theater finally! Though I would have liked it in Imax 3D, but eh.

The story was essentially what was seen in the trailers, with a couple little twists. The action was pretty cool of course. Very colorful and dynamic. The visuals of course were awesome! The comedy was enjoyable and hokey and included fun references every now and then.

And of course the acting was as good as the other movies. Keanu did a great job indeed! He played the role as seriously as any other role he’s done.

And it was nice to have a particular reference before the climactic battle.

I hope we get more from this franchise! I’m glad I saw this!

“I have dishonored my marshmallow.” is my favorite line XD

Mid-credit scene: Yes. Probably predictable, but fun and can’t wait to see what it leads to!

End-credit scene: Yes. Also predictable, but nice to have.

Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim (December 13, 2024)

This was such an epic adventure!

It felt as long as it was, but I loved being in this world again in this new form. I may not know a lot of the history of this era but it was such a great story.

It did take a bit for me to get used to the animation mix of drawn art and digital art. But by the end it was fine. The voice acting was well done. It was also nice to hear one or two familiar voices.

The story was surprisingly simple but took hard turns that led to everything that happened. The characters were great, I liked all the main characters. The antagonist was a bit dramatic, but that’s ok. The battles were fun to watch.

And of course the music was fantastic. speaking of audio, I will probably watch this in Japanese if it’s available when it comes to home media.

There were a couple bits and pieces that connected to the future we know, but nothing that overtook what was happening in the slightest.

There was also a note made dedicated to the late Bernard Hill, who played King Théoden in the LOTR trilogy.

All-in-all, I liked this and hope we get more projects like this for LOTR.

Mid-credit scene: Nope

End-credit scene: Nope

Kraven (December 13, 2024)

Well, that was indeed a movie. It wasn’t as bad as most of the other SSU movies, but that’s not saying much at all. though as this was supposed to come out before Venom 3, it wasn’t supposed to feel like the final SSU movie, so that’s fine. Venom 3 felt like that.

The acting was good, everyone did a good job I thought. The visuals were pretty good too.

The story wasn’t too complex. When this movie was announced and was announced as R-rated, I had my hopes. But as soon as the character of Kraven was described, I knew it was a similarly Sony mistake. Making the character fundamentally different from its comic book characterization is always a mistake. He was essentially similar in what his skills are, but who he is as a person was changed. Making him a hunter of hunters is just a misrepresentation of who the character is.

There were a couple surprise characters that were fun to see. And we already knew one of them was going to be in a main role. They were decent. Though since this universe is essentially at its end, at least when it comes to stand-alone villain live-action movies, I don’t know if we’ll see these actors in these roles again.

It went by faster than I thought it would. But that was fine for me since I had another movie to watch right after, haha.

As a movie, it was fine. As a Kraven movie, it was tolerable. Though, the tag line of the movie talks about the Orin of a villain, but there isn’t really anything villainous about him.

Mid-credit scene: No.

End-credit scene: No.

December 4, 2024

VERY LATE POST. Diamond had a problem with the regional warehouse they stored stuff in, in that they were being kicked out, so a lot of Marvel and other issues were (and still are) delayed.

I spy the Court of Owls in Batman. The Super-family is having powers problems, while the JSA are having other problems.Two-Face got a new run. We got a DC Christmas Special and a Marvel one. X-Men seems to ramping up towards an event. And we got a new Venom run after the events of Venom War.

(As I finish typing everything in this post, I’m off to two movies! So, there will be two movie posts soon to come today!)

Fun variants for this issue!

I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve seen a Jonboy Meyers cover, I really liked this one!

Of course, I love this next Gonzales cover and I thought it paired well with this Batgirl issue, which has wonderful art.

These Frison and Nakayama covers are just stunning! This is the first of David Nakayama’s spotlight artist covers of 6.

This Sweeney Boo Supergirl cover is just light and fun. And this is the next spotlight covers from Nakayama. And I think one of my favorite covers he’s done. And that’s saying a lot since I love all this covers! Haha. I even went and preordered a signed graded copy of it that will get here at some point…that reminds me that I need to some graded posts here soon as I’ve gotten a bunch recently.

Two-Face’s covers!

I’d forgotten that Christian Ward also is writing this run. I always enjoy his overs!

This is just stunning. It reminds me of that Rahzzah Wonder Woman cover I got a while back. Miguel Mercado did amazing here.

Variants for X-Men! Both will be in collections of course, so a wait for those.

And these are just here for, you guessed it, Kamala Khan!

And finally, the All-New Venom variants I got. Love the logo and foil! I’m surprised the logo cover didn’t get a foil treatment.

November 27, 2024

VERY LATE POST. Diamond had a problem with the regional warehouse they stored stuff in, in that they were being kicked out, so a lot of Marvel and other issues were (and still are) delayed.

(Woot for this being the 530th Comic Collection photo) As I am still over a year behind on reading, I’m not sure what’s going on in most of the DC books, but I do know that Doomsday is back in that Superman title! We got a new Black Canary run started, as well as a new Justice League run. Ghost Rider seems to be not having a great time in Spirits of Vengeance. Whereas Spider-Boy does seem to be having a good time. The Battle of Jakku continues. Tony’s war with Roxxon continues, while Venom War ends. And this was the 800th issue of Hulk! Though none of the covers really screamed 800th Anniversary issue cover, which was disappointing, they all just seemed like normal variants, it’s like they forgot. And the West Coast Avengers got a new run too!

The next two variants from both of these artists. Nakayama did a great job with this cover! He posted on IG that he had fun recreating the famous art. And love these Fornés covers!

I really like this Mike Del Mundo Flash cover! So much going on! I think it’s been a while since I got a Tiago Da Silva cover, and this Power Girl one is amazing. It’s like a painting in a museum.

Well now, I had to get that famous hand breaking through the ground. Character covers indeed. And I love this Lois cover by Dan Panosian.

Love these two Black Canary variants! Nakayama did a wonderful job at this! And y’all know how much I love legacy! This Otto Schmidt cover is so amazing!

I love these types of legacy covers! I see some I know, including the Arrowverse designs, and many more I’ve never seen. As I’ve said before, I hope to have one of these for Kamala Khan one day when she has enough costumes for this.

The Justice League is back! It’s nice to see this return. Now, I will say, I do feel wronged that DC didn’t do a Bruce Timm cover to pay homage to the very popular animated show named the same. Ridiculous. But I love these covers too!

Hopefully, I can get someone good to draw on this blank.

Such a fun wraparound cover! Bravo to Ed Benes, Sandra Hope and Alex Sinclair!

This foil cover is great art and a fun texture. I always love the raised UV wraparound foil covers! Daniel Sampere and Alejandro Sánchez were the artists of this!

It’s difficult to see the texture on these photos, but I tried! They feel funky.

Paolo Rivera did an amazing job with this Hello Dadkness cover. The lighting and reflections look so good! And the store pointed this homage cover from Creepshow to me and I was like oh that’s great, so I got it.

I love this Josemaria Casanovas cover! The colors look gorgeous! But also I loved seeing all the Riders on it too.

The next Clarke and Barends covers.

Love this Barends cover!

Such a great The Thing variant! And Clarke’s designs of Tony’s suits look great!

Such a freaky Momoko cover of Venom!

So many great covers!

I just really liked the main cover. Jessica Drew looks great by JeeHyung Lee. I really like Adam Hughes’s Firestar foil cover! A great use of Phoenix fire. I was surprised we got a Galloway cover here! Such a nice cover. And of course an Artgerm cover of Firestar.

November 2024 Late Issues 2

VERY LATE POST. Diamond had a problem with the regional warehouse they stored stuff in, in that they were being kicked out, so a lot of Marvel and other issues were (and still are) delayed.

A bunch of late variants or A covers.

I forgot to take these together. The Cable issue is a specific version of his first issue. Gone 1 and 3 I finally took out of my box. DWM issue, DW variant and that another copy of that Rose variant.

I just like this Catwoman cover. And I had to get this Gwenpool and Jeff cover! In-Hyuk Lee did great here!

The Gone issues. I will order issue 2 next month so I can read these, like I did for Somna.

Moana 2 (November 29, 2024)

Seen on December 1, 2024

This was such a great expansion of the story we knew!

I enjoyed being in this world again of course. The old and new characters blended well together well. The movie did go by faster than I would have liked though. The new characters were fun to get to know.

I did think the music was better in the first movie, but the songs weren’t bad, they just didn’t hook me as easily as the first movie’s did. But I didn’t like that we got a lot more chanting and indigenous language use throughout the movie.

The visuals were of course wonderful. Some of the same cues as before, but also new things. And seeing it in 3D was nice too. There weren’t a lot of big 3D shots, but I enjoyed those we got.

The lore of the world expanded so much in this movie, I hope we get more at some point. Though, in December 2020, there was an announcement of a series spinning out of Moana, so perhaps they still mean to do that. This movie was going to be that series, and perhaps it would have been better to do that so that things would unfold a bit slower, but maybe that could still work. I feel like that would be enjoyed a lot by fans. That way we could sit with the aftermath of this movie in long format before a potential sequel. Similar to the How To Train Your Dragon shows in plot. We’ll see!

Mid-credit scene: Yes, it connects to the future.

End-credit scene: Nope. But nice music.
