June 9, 2022 – So, it’s been a while since I watched Fallen Kingdom, so I forgot a bunch of stuff, I’d seen Jurassic World on television recently, so it was fresh in my mind.
I enjoyed this movie a lot. I loved seeing the classic Jurassic Park characters interact with the modern era characters. The dinosaurs were of course gorgeous as always. There were ones that we’d not seen in a while and familiar ones. This movie takes place 4 years after Fallen Kingdom, so the world is not doing well after dinosaurs were unintentionally introduced back into the wild. Plus those bugs! Wow. There were two clear plots that weaved in and out throughout the movie and they connected nicely later on.
All the actors did brilliantly as one would expect. Since this is the end of this story, I wouldn’t mind seeing a couple of the new characters have their own projects. They certainly seemed to have more to offer.
Seeing the dinosaurs in the midst of the normal world was intriguing and visually fascinating, even if not great for the people in the movie. There were some cameos via photos in one scene from the other Jurassic World movies that was nice. And there was even a couple specific things directly from the original Jurassic Park.
I really enjoyed being in this world again, it’s always fun. Of course it’s not been that long since we’ve been there since Netflix has had its Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous animated series which has been going the past few years. The final season of which drops next month. I’d certainly suggest it, it gets deeper than I thought it would when I first watched it. It’s set before, during and after the first Jurassic World movie, so the connections to that in season 1 are many. Season 2 is during the same month and season 3 is three or so months after season 2. It’s quite fun to see connections to the movies via this series and to see what potential there is for future projects.
All-in-all, this was a great ending for this story that started for us all in 1993 (1990 for those who read the novel first).
